Male, some of it, metal is a very broad term. I hate the kind of metal that is just screaming without any kind of melody whatsoever. You can't have music without a melody. If it has melody AND screaming it's doubly awesome.

although it depends on when im listening to it and what kind it is, there is A LOT of metal posted on the escapist that near puts me to sleep from how boring it is, but i do definitely like some metal sometimes.

It's a pretty diverse genre. Surely you can't consider it ALL to "not be music"? If so, I doubt you've explored it properly.
