Have you ever been to Pride? Whenever I have, the "flamboyant, in-your-face" people have been prominent, sure, but hardly the majority. Most floats and groups in the parade are merely representing various industries or organisations, and couldn't be called flamboyant in the slightest. After the parade, it tends to split off into various musical events and mini-shows and things, which tend to be just like most street-music stuff. Little flamboyance. No dildos.shinyelf said:

Well... it wouldn't be so bad if it were a solemn day of remembrance. Like Anzac Day. People will still get boozed up and all that, but the spirit would be maintained.
