Fanboys can generally be calmed down by acting like they have convinced you to see things their way. A warning though: Such a response has a possibility to induce incredible douchiness in the person.

David is, luckily, completely un-douchy and is likely never to become douchy in any shape or form.

Apart from the fanboy thing, he is amazing. It was even him who recommended the site.

He didn't say. But I didn't ask, in case he began ranting and going on about it and bored me to death.

By the way, if anyone else wants to add to this post, feel free to interrupt us.

Proper grammar and spelling, and learning to use the Search button will help you avoid Phonic-Nazis and Deja-Nazis.
Also: Don't be a douche to people who are coming to this site just for a popularity contest, because then you're just an elitist douche.

Other then that: just be a normal, nice person. Respect the MODs (They're awesome)*, and read the forum guidelines and rules carefully.

Welcome to the Escapist!
*This bit made me laugh.

It's funny, because it's true.

Unwritten rules? Well Basicly what everyone else has been saying I guess. Oh and we hate fanboys.
What about Fanboy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Fanboy] and Indigo_Dingo [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Indigo_Dingo]?
They're pretty popular.

I also ramble a lot, but so far no one has complained.

And can someone explain the concept of a fanboy? Never quite understood it.
A "fanboy" is someone who religiously defends something they are a fan of. They tend to be stupid and annoying, but a few of them aren't.
There not actually fanboys though, ok maybe dingo is but he has posted over 10,000 times he gets an amneisty and I'm yet to meet Fanboy.

No, Indigo get amnesty because he gives well thought out reasons as to why he thinks Sony>Everything.

And Fanboy is the guy who makes awesome animated avatars (mine included) for the Holiday Council.

So are ZP Fanboys called Yahtzee Nazis?
...why has nobody thought of calling them this before? Anyhoo, welcome to the site. I'm sure you'll be a great addition.
Don't know. I like Yahtzee. But that is a great nickname. I like him already. Welcome. Enjoy your stay here.

That Explains why I haven't heard of him yet. As for Dingo he isn't a "fanboy" if he has logic behind it. However wrong he is *cheaks dingo detecter*

If you guys tell him I said that I will have to kill you then run from Dingo.

Don't forget to add Wargamer into the fanboy group.

Under no circumstances threaten to burn down the building where the escapist is housed. They don't like that.

I have no idea why... oh wait..
