Well they DID say Conduit 1 was going to revolutionize the shooter genre, so I'd imagine the hype will be the same here.

I think you should draft a faux letter from your "lawyer" seeking litigation after the life-crippling let down that the game turned out to be after all of that anticipation. Your abillity to review games being hampered because every game you play, no matter how utterly horrible and broken, is absolutly wonderful in comparison to "Condiut 2" causing you to unfairly lionize them due to your trauma.

I thought it was pretty funny. I don't get why some of you feel the need to act offended and declare that the game should be burned at the stake.

Lighten up.

That's some big talk from High Voltage. I sure hope they can back that all up with a solid FPS. From the previews I have seen, they have the possibility. Hopefully they don't screw it up.

Calling it now: It's gonna be shit.
Or it'll be another one of those "Good... for a Wii game" titles.

What's it with publishers these days, hyping their games to such a degree that they can't possibly meet the expectations?

The press release is kinda like their first game. Slightly amusing at first, then you realize how stupid it is halfway through.

I don't know if this kind of humour can ever come off without being cringingly pretentious, especially if it's advertising

Nice. The only real problem with the first game is that it was extremely over hyped. It was a fine game. This one will be a fine game too, but DO NOT get everyone's hopes up for a mind blowing experience. I loves me some Wii, and it'll be nice to have a reason to go back and play it. Is that not good enough without the need to make people hate you?

Sincerely,

Hmmm, methinks this stunt would have worked better if they'd been jokingly feeding the egobeast for a few months. This strikes me as something the Bulletstorm of DNF devs could pull, because it fits a preconceived character we're familiar with. This is just coming from nobody, relatively speaking, and so it kinda backfires.

I could maybe tolerate a thing like this for something like Duke Nukem Forever, maybe if it was shorter, but for The Conduit 2? I barely knew they were making a Conduit 2.

It's marketing 101: Over-sell, under-deliver!

Wait...

pretty much this. DNF is a satire of itself, among other things, and could probably have its PR team pull something like this off without sounding completely douchey.
