Yeah, Youtube wants to become more like Facebook apparently.
In fact, lots websites want to become more like Facebook.

Is there any particular reason why he doesn't want to click on the "I don't want to use my full name" button? Doesn't that just mean that he can keep his current name?NightmareWarden said:This video seems to be relevant:
I think he was just doing that out of spite. If you choose "I don't want to use my full name", it assumes you may want to change your mind two or three days later. And then you reject it again...and again... and again.Beryl77 said:I wonder what determines, when it should pop up because many seem to have that problem here but I haven't encountered it in months.

IKR! What if you have to get into a crazy debate with someone(this happens far too often for me)! You don't want everyone knowing who you are.capper42 said:I agree, it's really annoying, and if there's one place I don't want to use my real name it's youtube.
I have a brilliant suggestion that will blow your mind.idarkphoenixi said:Damnit YouTube, stop asking me to give you my name. I've already said no, several times. I've given you the reasons why I don't want to use my name and still you persist, giving me an inescapable popup that won't go away until I say, yet again, that I DON'T want to use my actual name for YouTube.
What is this fascination with plugging people into "the system"? Where all your social media places are morphed into one? I don't even have a Twitter, or a Facebook. In fact, the only "social media" site that I'm signed up to is YouTube.
Well...anyway. Micro-rant over now. I wouldn't even mind so much except it's a HUGE popup that not only pauses the video I'm trying to watch but I can't even click away from this invasion of privacy. If I refresh the page, it comes back. Even though I've said no, given my reasons. Now I can only say "ask me again later".
If there's an option to turn this entire thing off then I haven't seen it yet. If anyone else is having the same annoyances as me then go ahead and share.
I don't know why specifically he didn't do it, but it's asked me five times now since I first said no.Beryl77 said:Is there any particular reason why he doesn't want to click on the "I don't want to use my full name" button? Doesn't that just mean that he can keep his current name?

And when videos that I have already watched and are greyed out appear in the "what to watch" tab, you know you've fucked up.
i dont want to have 100 alias accounts. i got 3 mails and thats enough for me. i want as little acocunts anywhere as possible, but thing is, my youtube account is older than my google account and i use copletely different mail purpose thna youtube an linking the two is insult to the highest degree. i dont want my work partners know that im browsing dating sim lets plays. fuck you google. and no creating a new gmail is not possible because the name is taken. its been taken 8 years ago.Aaron Sylvester said:
Same. Except I'm Avery Awesomefellow. Deleted my Gmail (and transferred all accounts it was tied to, which took for-ev-er) when I discovered I somehow had mysteriously been signed up for Google Plus. I now use GMX (an email that's just an email?! Madness!) and fake names for Youtube.Garyn Dakari said:I just gave them my internet name, Garyn Dakari, as my real name and my screen name. Works fine for me, and google/youtube still does not have my real name.

Try AdBlock. Disable it here, as I've seen people get a warning for admitting that they use one on this site. >.<Well...anyway. Micro-rant over now.
