I am actually purchasing, playing, and enjoying new games that are coming out. Crazy, I know, but it is true. I am the dastardly one, aren't I? :3

Well, I wait for everything on Steam to be on a sale of 50% or more until I buy it (if it's priced over 20).
Other than that, I don't really know. I tend to buy innovative products and games from independent developers because I have become bored of a lot of the things present in big name products. Also, if you exhibit principles that I don't agree with (such as Indie dev Phil Fish or the company Ubisoft with their DRM) then I won't be purchasing or playing your product.

I sleep bloody fine at night, thank you very much.

I love Dark Souls. Which if you believe a fairly recent thread on here makes me a pissy, entitled twat. I resent their implication, but w/e. :)

I...don't judge my buying trends on whether they were made by a soulless publisher, thus stunting the indie market from really gaining a foothold to start to take down the behemoths? I buy game sequels to games I liked without question, no matter what hype gets out about it being good or bad. I want the return of cheats, local co-op of the two people one couch variety, and I rent or borrow new IP, unless it's on sale to the point where the developer isn't really making anything off of my purchase.

I may actually feel a little bad about the last one.

Acording to glorious master race is by buying games for consoles.

Personally I don't think so, bar some lightning details, PC and console games look practically the same from my couch on my TV screen. Except that I can play console games from my couch because I'm not chained in front of a desk. /angry fist

As in ArsTechnica's article about that 4k res RED stuff:

It may be the best thing since sliced bread when you stick your face to the TV, but from comfortable position is all the same - Dupscaled 720p on consoles VS true 1080p and with AA and bla bla on PCs.

And most of the time I buy Single Player games for 20 euros or less (used or classic re-realease) - yeah developers might not get money, but when Skyrim or Dark Souls last over 200 hours for the same price compared to your 8-16 hour long game... No way I'm paying the full price for that. Charge or design your game acordingly...

Queue a thousand PC fanboys screeching and pointing like Body Snatchers, then saying "you can hook up a PC to your TV, stupid console fanboy, RAAGERABBBLLLEEE!!!!"

Yeah, I'm allegedly the worst thing to happen to the game industry because I can't fork over $600+ towards a "decent gaming PC" every two years.

"You play on a console? OMG!!! Stop holding the industry back, fanboy!!!!"

Getting really sick and tired of having to put up with that. Want me to get a PC and "stop holding the industry back"? Then by all means send me the money to buy a gaming PC. Aren't willing to do that? Then shut the &^%* up!

I don't have wealthy parents, or a cushy job, so I can't afford a gaming PC. Get over it.

Absolutely nothing, though I guess I'm not doing anything to advance it either but then I don't work in the industry so the chances of me advancing the industry are slim.

Generally I buy the games I like and ignore the ones I don't. This method seems to be working out very well so far.

I don't like voice acting. I don't care about flashy graphics. I don't like the movie-fication of games. I don't like shoehorned-in romance in RPGs (Mass Effect / Dragon Age style). I don't like facebook games, or any kind of facebook integration. I despise the vast majority of DLC. These opinions affect my (lack of) game purchases.

Yippee! I'm afraid of the future!

I shop at Gamestop and get my games used. For what its worth though, steam is really competing for my attention.

I still find the typical sexy game characters (the unrealistic, big boob and eye candy etc) to be appealing instead to be against it (if you hate it, fine by me but I'm still going to leer at it).

I have never bought DLC or a downloaded a game.

I've waited for a few "complete" editions Arkham City and Saints Row.

EDIT: I'm also a filthy console peasant.

I sometimes buy EA and Activision games. I believe the best games are older and the newer ones will be more and more shit. I collect PS1 and 2 games and think that those were the golden years and scream at studios on facebook for being stupid. I also have a hard time being angry at Sony.

Lets see here, I buy AAA games including the ones from EA/Activision, I love Bioware, I enjoy "brown" games like CoD and GoW, I shop at Gamestop frequently, both buying used games and trading in my old ones, I buy DLC, I don't give two shits about the majority of DRM,I use Origin, I hate digital distrobution in general (including Steam), I own consoles, I dislike extremely hard games like Dark souls, and "art" games that are bigger on "meaning" then actual gameplay, Oh and I'm almost always refuse to call games "racist" or "sexist" because I care much more about descriptors like "fun" or "not fun" . So basically I am the gaming anti-Christ. (by certain people's standards)

Uh... I really enjoyed Bulletstorm?

I hugely prefer voiced dialogue to old school RPG list-o-options dialogue systems.

I prefer gameplay that relies on player input rather than character stats.

I don't have any particular objection to DLC, even on-disc day-one DLC.

Oh, and I'm not currently boycotting any publishers.
I agree.

Um... I buy Nintendo stuff and apparently nintendo are stagnant and uncreative...

[sub]motion control... touch screen.... multi screen... mario galaxy 2's stage designs...[/sub]

I like fairly uncommon genres byt odays standards
I love JRPG's and platformers, and survival horror that isn't just hard to play. Resident Evil 4 being my second favourite game of all time...

Oh yeah I keep buying Capcom stuff! I enjoyed Resident Evil 6 even though the last boss of Leon's story is a manticore, godzilla and mothra all in one somehow.

Edit: I don't really enjoy online multiplayer, I did for a while, but it's really just repetitive wank most of the time. I prefer to be in the same room as my game playing buddies. Best multiplayer I played back in 2012? Well me and a friend ploughed through Gunstar Heroes and Golden Axe...

Not buying/playing enough console games, elitist viewpoints on FPS games and E-sports and a few other things I suppose :/

I actually enjoyed all the CODs too, and I don't mean the multiplayer (that's what I bought Battlefield 3 for).

I've always been a big Nintendo fan, and don't mind at all that they're going a different direction than other console developers.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the Halos, and don't think Bungee ever "betrayed" their fanbase; gameplay tweaks that aren't successful aren't "betrayal," they just aren't successful.

I actually liked Resident Evil's new focus on smoother controls, and far from betrayal, all I find wrong with newer installments is lack of puzzles. Think: RE2 would've been just as awesome over-the-shoulder with good controls, if not more awesome.

I thought the DmC Reboot was good. It's Americanized, but that isn't bad. Dante is more punkish, but he is also written with more heart. When in the original series did you ever get the feeling Dante gave a flying fuck-demon [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Succubus] about humans? He killed demons more because of his mom than any incentive to save the world. The new Dante looks off, but fits the story better. Hell, even Vergil gets the stupider-looking-but-better-written treatment. And the story is, if not better, at least more comprehensible. I do miss how often in the original series, demons would take on angelic appearance, Mundus especially. I don't hate the new demon-angel-hybrid thing for Dante, but I do blame Darksiders for coming up with the idea.

I liked Doom 3, what can I say? It's not a rock and roll shoot-em-up like the first two, but is that necessarily bad?

Duke Nukem Forever was okay. Not good, not bad, just okay. I play old shooters, and the nostalgia trip was fun, but they should've slashed the price.

I liked FF13. Guilty pleasure that I can't justify.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was my favorite installment. 3 was awesome, but 4 had feels. Oh the feels.

I can think Dead Space isn't scary and still think it's a good, brilliant game.

Dragon Age 2 actually FIXED everything that was wrong with Origins. It sucked not being able to choose race, but Bioware RPGs are stories, not sandboxes.

I actually didn't hate the original, unchanged endings for Mass Effect 3. I didn't like the starchild, but it didn't kill anything for me. An exposition from Harbinger would've been cooler, and your decision could be either in defiance of him (red and blue both) or compromising with him by picking green and accomplishing his mission for him without killing or enslaving his kind.

That's it for my confessions, which while are common apparently are neither mainstream nor vocal. Also, in the context of Skyrim exclusively as a standalone, Stormcloaks all the way! But... then I remembered Morrowind and Oblivion. FOR THE EMPRAH!

I've never boycotted a company before, even if I dislike their practices.
I buy DLC. Not every piece, just whatever is reasonably priced and sounds interesting.
I've bought more old games than new releases recently, mainly because I don't play shooters.
I fucking love Bioware.
I loved Dragon Age 2. And Dragon Age: Origins. I can't wait until DA3, which I will buy the day it comes out.
I don't get upset (usually) by whatever the latest disgrace to gaming is and repeat it at every available thread topic (Mass Effect anybody?)
I'm invading this obviously male-only boys club, because men and women can't ever have the same interests.
