I actively avoid internet fame. I use a different name when posting on every web site. I have a smattering of email addresses, most of which use fake names. I don't have a social networking page. Any of them. There are four photographs identifying me online. You can't see my face clearly in any of them, and you'd be lucky to find them, as I share a name with some famous footballer. Barely any of my web accounts are linked to each other.

Aaand that's the way... uh-huh uh-huh I like it uh-huh uh-huh

The one moment of internet fame I had was when Steve Gibson retweeted one of my tweets, which led to a person getting referenced to me, who saw an article I had recently written, which led to him translating it to Spanish and Catalan because he liked it and wanted to share it. Which makes me a published author in 3 languages, I guess. :p

2 things basically stand out

I am a very competitive videogame player and I have been a top member in a lot of communities. You may have seen some of my matches streamed for games like Left for Dead, Call of Duty MW1 and 2, Wolfenstein, Counterstrike and Gears of war 1.

The other thing is I started writing a blog for a while on T2/Standard builds, which I would frequently send to TCGplayer. A few of those actually got Topblog of the month awards which meant they actually got posted on the main articles page.

Earlier today, I was having a conversation with some of my friends. We were talking about the rise in internet reviewers, such as sites like TGWTG, and the idea behind internet fame. It was my contention that internet fame means almost nothing compared to real world fame. My point was that everyone has some tentative claim to internet fame. Any guy with a camera can become an internet reviewer. And many have.

So I ask you, dear readers. What makes you ?internet famous??

I don?t have much, except the fact that something I wrote is linked on Encyclopedia Dramatica. Which, now that I think about it, isn?t something I should be bragging about?

I own a horse.

Six of them, actually.
Really? That's quite a few. Why do you own so many?

Well I've got over 12,000 posts...
That's something... I think.
I think that only counts if you have been noticed. I have almost 5000 posts and nobody really notices or remembers me.

*ahem* i was more talking about when discussions of stripping get brought up or games of strip[insert game here] get played.....though sometimes with the latter its intentional and usually cause I'm talking to a bunch of guys and...holy shit I'm usually the only girl HOW HAVE I NOT NOTICED THIS BEFORE?!?!?!? [sub]I need to go sit down and re-think my life...i'll be in the corner[sub]/sarcasm[/sub][/sub]
I more meant when I get drunk anyway. I am also just one of those rare souls that are equally comfortable in or out of clothes. Wait, now that I think about it I am usually surrounded by girls anyway.....Wow I feel like I have wasted years of my life all of a sudden -_-

Well I used to write reviews on unsigned metal bands for a website and we had a pretty good following, don't know if anyone knew me though >.>

I also have a pretty decent post count and I just posted over 1100 posts in about 6-7 days >.> and I think I'm slowly becoming more popular on the escapist. but then again I still got a long ways to go >.>

Edit: how could I forget that I am a bad ass Fps player and I have been asked if I was a pro gamer multiple times ^-^

ummmm.......i randomly flirt with half the guys I know(though since I do it both IRL and online does that really count for much?) And amongst my friends I tend to be known as the one who will willingly take her clothes off first especially during the summer.....
...DAMN YOU, CROSS-COUNTRY DISTANCES! :p

I suppose my "biggest" claim to fame is the avatar over there.
Which is really Fanboy's work.
Ummm...I was the first to hit 20,000 posts sometime in 2009 XD Does that count?

I do regularly have top-rated comments on Youtube, without resorting to the idiotic "thumbs up if DERP!" comments. In my hometown, I'm famous for a number of stuff.

But what it takes to be internet famous, I guess it can come from anything. You could be good at video games, make films, have musical talent, be naturally funny, be really good at editing and make entertaining vids, or just jump the shark by posting something incredibly demeaning and dumb like "sittin' on the toilet".

For vloggers, I have no idea.

It's not all that famous at all, but I made Gusty Garden Galaxy (Google it if you need to [you uncultured swine {jklolz}]) with lyrics, and that's been steadily increasing in popularity. Mostly because it's the only one, out of maybe four different versions, with writing that doesn't suck. I know it sounds like I'm just biased, which I am a bit, but trust me, the other ones suuuuuuck. I can't sing, but at least it doesn't sound like it was written by a ten year old.

Really, here are some other ones-

Count how many of those lines actually fit with the music.

What is this I don't even.

So, it's not like the bar was set very high. I'd link to mine, but I'm all self conscious and shit and that wouldn't be good for anybody. But if you really care, just look for the one that sucks the least. And subscribe. /totallynotshamelessplug

And in the future I'll be abdomen rupturingly famous from my epic blind playthrough of Mega Man 1-6 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.312431-New-9-13-Lets-Play-Mega-Man-Blind-Volume-8-10]. I actually just finished the first game today, but that won't be uploaded for a while.

My biggest and only claim to internet fame is a single video on youtube with 20k views.
Plus I know this kid IRL-

As "an unrepentant self-important, self in-titled whiny, complaining, petulant, stubborn, raging 'Douche-tarted Fuck ass'". Not to mention that I might also be a Nazi, according to some people. Other than that, I'm the least notable person to ever mash keys at incredible speed with lots of angry at someone behind a computer screen who I can't punch in the face and therefore shouldn't be being so angry about. Lots of times.
