Maybe attraction to personality is more important than gender?

Don't know, I've never really let gender get in the way of sexual attraction.

So what would you call straight guy who can look at another guy (gay or not) and think "he's sexy"? I do that, (I have a kid, so not gay) But I can honestly say that, even if I was being 'tricked into a gay act' I would neve follow through with it. Maybe a kiss *wink*
That's called a 1 on the Kinsey Scale [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale].

You quit worrying about it if it doesn't affect you.

That simple rule would solve almost all of the world's problems.

I'm bi. I just find hot girls hot, and hot guys hot. Really not that complicated. Also, many bisexuals have a slight preference. Myself, for example, find that girls tend to be hot more often (to me, at least) than guys... But that's probably just the boobs.

Anyway, yeah, bi = girls and guys are sexy!

Wait, someone actually made a scale of that? I'm also surprised someone could get their name attached to such a simple and obvious scale.

Incidentally, that article links to the article on 'sexology', where they seem to have used the seediest picture they could find to represent it. Especially when it's apparently a purely research based field.

And yet so many people find it so innovative the first time they hear about it...

(ETA: The sexology thing is... really funny. Oh wikipedia, how you crack me up.)

What goes around in their mind? are you bisexual? what is the thought process when you get attracted to someone?
for instance a hetero , would think of a boy as sweet..
do u think a vulnerable person could be manipulated at a sensitive stage into believing he/she is gay?
Err, OP this is pretty simple. They are roughly equal sexual preference for both genders, it's that simple.

No inherently different thought processes other than that. It isn't even a thought process, it's an instinctual response:

See boobs => get aroused

See cock => get aroused

It's that simple, there is no logical or rational thought process to FEELINGS! You just feel them. It's like eating your favourite food and you going:

"BUT WHYYYYY Do you like it?!? Why do you like Marmite, why can't you hate it like I do"

But moving on, you did actually say:
"do u think a vulnerable person could be manipulated at a sensitive stage into believing he/she is gay?"

Only if they were either:
(a) Actually be gay, or
(b) so impressionable and conformist to the point of being a mental disorder

More commonly gay people delude themselves they are straight because they don't like the "gay lifestyle" (and all the bullshit stereotypes that go with it) and are terrified of rejection by expressing their affection to man who is likely hetero and would be disgusted or at least awkward. There is NO INCENTIVE for someone in society to pretend to be gay if they were not.

When it comes to sexuality, there are NO ABSOLUTES! It's called sexual PREFERENCE for a reason. Men who exclusively have sex with women in society will find themselves having sex with men when deprived of women such as in Prison or in the Navy or whatever. But interview these sorts and they won't say they are gay, they're just saying they are pursuing relationships of convenience.

Bi-sexual to my mind means to not have any fixed sexuality.

Though, if you then think about that a bit, it's a bit odd when you consider that 'Bi-sexual' is now considered a separate sexuality on its own in it's own right.

Hmmm.

Oh and no, I'm not.

The question of "what goes around in their mind" is a perfect example of how people overthink and overcomplicate matters of difference between people.

There's really nothing complicated here. And yet, someone's bringing complexity into the equation with this line of thinking.

This isn't a flame, just a point I think more people should think about.

Men and women, gays and straights (and bisexuals), etc. We're not all that different. It just seems it when one overcomplicates things.

My sexuality is fixed. It's just located in an area that allows me to enjoy men and women.

Think of it like blood type.

You have A - and A likes certain things.

You have B - and B like certain things.

You have O - and O likes certain things.

You have AB - and AB likes certain things.

Bisexuality is AB.

The real question is, who the hell is O?!

Well I have a strong preference for women, but decided i was bisexual a few years ago, (i'm a teenager, btw) and by now I'm sure, I'm sexually attracted to men as well as women. but i think deep inside a good percentage of people *could* be bisexual if they opened their mind a bit. hell, we're all just people
EDIT: in response to the 'bisexuals are sex-crazed' thing, I'm quite a sexual person inside but aren't we all? I'm quite introverted until you get to know me

Not bisexual myself, but... Escapist-only info, being totally honest, I wondered if maybe I was. I concluded that I just don't have a cow when I see a man naked, but I'm only sexually and emotionally attracted to women... so I was straight, but secure in my sexuality.

Somewhat unrelated story aside, I can guess that it's very freeing to know you wouldn't mind it either way, but a little harrowing (as I imagine just being gay is as well) because people are even less likely to understand and not get creeped out by you. It's kind of depressing when I think of it that way. Like has already been said, it's different for everyone and not every bisexual fits neatly into an exact definition. Someone may identify themselves as bisexual, but only be attracted to under 10% of the otherwise attractive and interested girls they meet, or vice-versa. Asking someone to quantify and collapse their whole spectrum of sexuality into a neat little summary is asking a lot, and for a lot of people, asking the impossible.

To answer the second question, no, I don't believe someone can be "tricked" into having a different sexuality. That's what homophobes say when their children turn out to be gay... maybe it was that person they were hanging out with, maybe it's taught too early in school and confuses youngsters, it's just a state of mind, it's just a phase, etc. etc..... I have to wonder about the combination of those two questions. Is the OP trying to indirectly tell us a story from his own life?
