I have the exact same feeling.

Thought I think it's a bit of a paradox in this thread.

I rarely am quoted unless I get a random PM about my profile picture. I don't mind being quoted, though usually it is someone shoving their opinion down my throat. ;/

I used to get excited, but lately I've just felt apathetic. People seem to agree with me too often, meaning the discussions I engage in are generally one-sided.

And yes, I realize this leaves me open to a ton of "I don't agree with you and am proving you wrong by not agreeing with you" responses to this post.
I don't think many members of the escapist are brave enough to start disagreeing with forum moderators, even if it isn't against the rules.

I hate the argument ones, but fully accept it's my own fault for getting into the argument in the first place.
Some people believe so blindly that their opinions are the absolute truth and the last thing you want is to be bought down to their level.
True enough, but a good argument can be quite a lot of fun.

It depends on what thread it's from. I'm pretty fond of those "help me remember what game this was" type of things so a quote is either confirmation that I helped someone or a message saying I need to try again.

If it is a thread about something serious I usually don't like being quoted simply because most of the time it will be someone taking what I said out of context, but sometimes it is someone with something worth saying and then I don't mind at all.

I always get a slight buzz out of seeing that red "You have 1 new message" thingy, especially if someone's quoted me to say something nice, but I'm just as happy to be contradicted. How could you learn anything, otherwise?

It happens every so often. The little box tells you you have one new message, it's in the quoted folder. How do you feel?

For me I get the excitement of having said something important enough for someone to want to reply or expand on what I've said. That and the worry that I've posted something sounding quite aggressive and it's going to be someone calling me out on being a prick.

So, how do YOU feel?
When I see it I instantly think "Oh fuck, what'd I say now?" since most people tend to take my posts rather negatively, granted many of my posts would understandably be taken so.

Anyway it's also good, I mean I post to discuss shit, so I tend to expect to be quoted.

I'm almost shamefully happy to see that I've been quoted, even if it was become some ignorant wad chose to disagree with me.

I love it when someone quotes me, I don't even give a flying fuck if it was to troll or piss me off. They took the time to quote me and that's that!

Usually it's to agree with me, add stuff on to my point/s, argue with me or to compliment my avatar.

In the short term, it depends on the context.
In the long term (In all cases), I realize that it's a brief, insignificant moment of discussion that will be quickly forgotten and changes nothing.

Why? Because it's on the Internet.

It's basically the only reason for my posts. Why bother putting my opinion up if someone isn't interested enough to respond to it.

That is precisely the same feeling I get. It's kinda like a drug really.

I dunno.

How do YOU feel?
The point of this, seeing as he already told us how he feels, is?

I'm usually excited. Sometimes I do have the reaction of "I hope I wasn't too big a prick and someone isn't calling me out on it", but I usually don't think about that at first.
