Very few get my name right the first time, and that's in Norway. After 4 weeks in the UK now I haven't heard a single correct pronounciation. But then again I have a weird name, Tord. In Norway there are about 4 different ways to say it. And the Brits won't get any of them.
My last name on the other hand is impossible for a non-scandinavian speaking Brit to pronounce, but very easy if you're Norwegian.

It's rather infuriating. I thought Colin was a common name.

Apparently not, since they always put two L's or think my name is just Col (Seriously, I've never seen anyone with the name Col. Is it even a name? Ah who cares.)

I've even been mistaken for Carl once.

My name is Brandon. Simple, right?
Apparently not...
All the afrikaans people I know say "Brendan". Very irritating. Then people are always making mistakes and confusing me with people in my class named Byron and Brian... And I hate those two. So I get irritated because it is so damn simple, and everyone will get it wrong at some point!

I just laugh at it and if i feel like it I tell them but i'm usualy scared that people might take it as a angry reply or something like it.

It doesn't happen that often and when it it does I really don't care.I have better things to get pissed about like there not being a Jade Empire 2 or Evil Dead 4.

It's easy to pronounce my name. My first name is easy. My second name is also quite simple it's the spelling many get wrong. McCarthy (mu-car-thy), I think I've had it spelt: McArthy, McCarty, Mucarthy, McCarphy and many others. I just tell people politely if they get it wrong. It's not big deal.

My name is Matthew, so no-one ever mispronounces that, but sometimes they call me Nathan because that's my brothers name and that does get quite annoying.

My name's one of those ones that most European/Biblical countries have some version of, and I'm happy if people use their country's pronunciation. Makes me feel a bit more exotic sometimes ;-)

My last name is also pretty common, although people do tend to confirm the spelling because there are versions that sound the same but have different letters.

Nobody ever seems to mispronounce my name, but I occasionally have to correct people spelling part of my last name wrong. I have a hyphenated last name with the last part being "Jones" (which never gets messed up) but people sometimes leave a letter out of the first part. I never think it's that big of a deal though. I just politely correct them and move on with my day.

The only time people have misspelled my name is when they replace the "a" and put a "u" in Lucas. It doesn't really bother me.

No one has ever mispronounced my name which is a good thing because it's not that difficult to pronounce.

Its not that they mispronounce my name, but they call me by my brother's name.

[small]Always...[/small]

That and nobody can spell my actual name correctly.

Its Isaac...

Issac, Isac, Isc, Isuc, Iass,

And my personal favorite...

Hard to mispronounce my first name, but I burst into hysterical laughter when someone pronounced my surname as "Mulland". Seriously, "Mulholland" isn't exactly hard.

I don't have a problem if someone mispronounces or misspells my name. If someone is misspelling it I will let them now they are misspelling it and correct them. Usually I am asked how my name is spelled. It is not a complex name but it can be spelled two different ways.

I snap on the inside but i manage to stay calm on the outside because its happened my entire life it seems no one can understand (BR-e-MEN) they always say something like Brandon or Broman and if they spell it they get really crazy, Breemman is the craziest I've seen but people usually just miss spell it Breman but i think its somewhat my fault and how i say it.
Simular to my name that (Brennan) most of the time people think its Brown =/ But yeah I've had the Brandon, Browman, Breeman (my cheese super power ater ego), Breadnan...and so on.

You'd be surprised how many creative ways people find to screw up "Ian". One company addressed letters to "Ivan" for years.

I'm used to it. My last name is spelled unconventionally, thus it doesn't bother me when it gets spelled wrong.
