Well my last name is Baez (pronounced Biez) so I get that crap a lot. You probably get more a reaction if you pronounce it right the first time.

My first name can be tricky to spell, but is hard to mispronounce. I think you'd have to actually be trying to mispronounce it.
Mostly not at all as long as I'm able to understand that it is me they are talkink about.
Also Karlén is a ***** to pronounce if you're a native english speaker, even I can't pronounce it any other way at all than the swedish way.

It's something I've gotten used to. My first name is never messed up, but a lot of people pronounce my last name wrong. They pronounce is like "soul," which is pretty cool, so I can't complain.

My name is Charlie, and for some reason when they write my name down on a piece of paper, the assume that the name ends with 'y' instead of 'ie'. It kind of bugs me, but not to the point of snapping at somebody.
My Last name is German, so its not uncommon that people usually pronounce it incorrectly. Although I love it when people ask me how to spell
my last name to which I reply, " It spelled F,U....". Needless to say I giggle on the inside every time.

Most people can't spell or say my first name right when I first meet them, I don't get offended because it sounds different from what it's spelled like.

I'd slap them for being silly. My name is very common, and monosyllabic, so it's incredibly easy to get right.
My girlfriend has an Irish name though, and since going to college everyone who isn't Irish, and even some Dubliners get her name wrong on a near daily basis. It sounds infuriating...

Well, my name is pretty damned easy to pronounce so I've never encountered this issue. The worst anyone has ever done is give it a latin flair and since it's usually latin women that do it, I really don't mind.

OT: I've had to put up with people using English pronunciation rules on a German last name for 21 years. Any annoyance I had for people messing it up disappeared a long time ago.
