I'm Australian, 19 and I don't drink, never have and probably never will. Which gets me a lot of weird faces when I tell this to people, especially since most Australians are excessive drinkers.
The reason I don't is the same reason I don't smoke; I don't trust myself. I don't believe I can control how much I have and as such I would become a danger to my own health. Not to mention I've seen how people grow to depend on alcohol to cope with social enviroments and I don't like the idea of growing dependant on something like that.
Any reason someone has given me to justify drinking do not make up the potential (and numerous) problems it causes, so I don't, simple as that.
