I'd... Sort of agree. At least with the second partchris11246 said:Never wanted to. It just doesn't look good and its horrible for you. I guess its fine if you drink because you're thirsty but Ive never understood getting drunk.
Hangovers are gods way of saying you kicked ass the night before. Then making you sick because you were too awesome for your own good.chris11246 said:When I said I never understood getting drunk I mean drinking for any reason other than you are thirsty and you like the taste of the drink. I'll never understand drinking for the sole purpose of getting drunk because there's so many bad effects, hangovers being one of them.
I know exactly what you mean, ah man im 20 and i was playing blackjack in the Mandalay Bay all week and drank the bars dry, there is wonderful footage on a camera somewhere of all the emptys we piled highLooK iTz Jinjo said:I'm an 18 year old Australian. What do you think? Drink every weekend (3-4 nights a week wen on holidays from school) a night where I take it easy is 5-6 beers. When I'm out with friends it usually get up around 20+ standard drinks because of course, when with the boys all sense of drinking "responsibly" goes right out the window. If I'm out with a girl I tend to take it easy and drink less. I was in the US last year and was drinking (yes I know I was well underage, but being aussie no one seemed to care) and every time I went for a second or third apparently this is considered an alcoholic.
I find that to be the mst appropriate system and should be a universal law like gravity or something. Like Alcohol consumtion x effort of weeks work / requirement to be ablse stand tomorrow = appropriate amount to drinkPunchClockVillain said:I find that my alcohol intake on the weekend is directly related to my workload during the week.
Sounds like an Epic night :] giving up drinking eh, we have people like that in Ireland we call em quittersHE Starwind said:I'm English, and from the north, so when I went out I drank just about everything. I drank if it was awful tasting, and when I had one pint down me, I had to drink until I passed out due to my lack of self control. 3 days ago however, I quit drinking, and I'm quite happy about it.
When you wake up outside a bus station 10 miles away from your own home at half 5 in the morning with a wet patch, no shoes and shirt, vomit in your hair and a banging headache, your mind kind of gives you a hint you're not the type of person that should be drinking.
PS. That was about 1 year ago, and surprisingly didn't end drinking at that point.
Well I'm still drinking at events, like birthdays and the etc. But I was drinking 5 or 6 days a week, and always to the excess. It should also help me lose weight and help my manic depression a little bit aswell, seen as though drinking was my escape to it but just made it worse.Epitome said:Sounds like an Epic night :] giving up drinking eh, we have people like that in Ireland we call em quittersHE Starwind said:I'm English, and from the north, so when I went out I drank just about everything. Well as an 18 year old Australian I was able to out-drink anyone in the bar. I barely looked 18 too let alone 21, I'm always getting ID'd here, but they never questioned me once. Australia really is an awesome place to live! Especially if you like drinking; on a hot summers day nothing beats a cold beer.Epitome said:I know exactly what you mean, ah man im 20 and i was playing blackjack in the Mandalay Bay all week and drank the bars dry, there is wonderful footage on a camera somewhere of all the emptys we piled highLooK iTz Jinjo said:I'm an 18 year old Australian. I went a week of going thru 3 handles of tequila... my body told me to fuck off after that. This last weekend I went thru a 30 case of beer and a handle of rum.Epitome said:Hey fellow Escapists, im just back in off a few jars in the local and was wondering, How much do my fellow escapists drink? Obviously I mean alcohol , now i was recently in the USA for a visit and found that my drinking habits by far exceeded the norm, but also that i was not as "adversly" affected by booze as your standard yank.good times lool. But that was my average drink on a night out, now im Irish, we have amongst the highest alcohol consumption per capita in the world
On a Friday/Saturday night out i would start at maybe 4-6pm and finish between 2-3am drinknig around 10-12 pints and 2-5 shots, on a heavy session like a party or such it could be much more, how much do m fellows consume?
