I am one of those freaks who likes endgame though, I tend to make every raid interesting for myself by being the competant joker. So I'm allowed to be funny as long as I'm producing results.
I thought everybody liked endgame all my friends certainly do, it's very fun when you get both PvE and PvP gear.
I'm not looking forward to the endgame at all. Pretty much nothing players do there actually interests me.

If I get someone to max level, I'll either devote some time to developing their profession, or just shift the focus to one of my alts. Something I picked up at City of Heroes; to me, the journey is more fun than the destination.
Definitely not the case in WoW
Worked for me so far.
Only way I see it being fun is if you have someone to level with. Grinding solo is tedious and boring and trying to group at low levels is usually a huge pain in the ass... however... I quit six months ago before they implemented the cross realm groups so perhaps that problem has been remedied, in which case running some of the those old 5-mans is/could be really fun.

Each patch since Vanilla has eased leveling slightly. By now it's easily possible to hit 80 in under 5 days playtime, and you can do this in a number of different ways. Grinding dungeons is fun, PvP leveling is fun (when you're in the X6-X9 level area of each bracket, mind you), and questing/grinding is marginally fun. Leveling in WoW is a relatively painless experience nowadays, especially compared to other MMOs.

People who say that WoW is grindy have never played a game with ACTUAL grind. Like, Final Fantasy XI, let's pull the crabs into the one corner of the zone and kill them for three hours to level up grind.

Not the case anymore. Believe me.

OH Maplestory. Your grind will forever haunt the dark recesses of my teenage soul.
Yeah I find most who complain about the grind played WoW as their first MMO...

Wow doesn't have as bad a grind as many other MMOs out there, but you still have to rush through 2 expansions of nothing to be able start working towards the "fun" part of the game.

Mmm make sure you gather all the quests for one particular spot, so you can do minimal killing/traveling and more leveling.

As long as you do quests your all good ;)

I solo 90% of the time. That's why I don't grind, I just quest and explore normally (and occasionally get sidetracked with my budding one-man commercial empire).

Really? I played WoW today. Death Knights and Paladins are a *****. Well I guess it depends on gear...with proper gear, anything can shave off 33% of my health in 2 seconds...especially if my own gear is not so good lol.
What class do you play? I can give you some nice techniques for the disposal of my silly little hammer weilding class. Since it's a problem my team mates tend to gripe at me for when we lose. The best two classes for getting rid of us are the Warlock and Shadow Priests with a melee or hunter dispatching us for greater effect.
It's extremely hard to shake off all the debuffs over and over so what we try to do is just not get hit with them at all and dispose of those bloody fearing little buggers straight off the bat, but sometimes it just doesn't happen and I'm screwed.

Death Knights are funny, theres a few ways to deal with them, I came across a 3 man team of DK's once and to their credit they didn't do badly...

Then again I play the traditional Retribution build... not those scary HP overloaded Protection/Holy Hybrids... That might be why there's some problems. I'm really more of a PvE-er if I'm honest, because it's what I'm best at. Heck my presence after 2 hours of Wipes at GC - Twin Valkyr made the victory appear... not to be arrogant but it was clearly the case.

I dunno what possessed my leader to have me healing in that encounter... the second I went retri, good times were had. Shows what a good 3% extra raid damage and 1 extra dps can do really...
Everyone kept insisting healing was the problem. *shakes head*

a few FYI's

Battlegrounds fun, Arena Bad. Battlegrounds are big 10v10 Up to 40v40. then theres Wintergrasp with 100v100. Arena is a duel in a box with 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5. Not much there except for the best gear and elitist pricks

If you are a tank or a healer you get epic fast dungeon finder times, DPS not so much

If you are levelling a warlock for the love of god level as affliction and lat your Voidwalker tank for you, destro will rape you mana bar witha rake.

level 40-51 is a big speedbump, grind dungeons to get past it. level 70 is also a brickwall with XP required to level jumping form 750k to 1.5 million in that one level. ocne your past those its all good.

Once you have an 80 you can purchase Heirloom items which increase XP gained by 10% and scale in winpower with your level all the way up to 80. (Only applies to heirloom shoulders and chest though, all others still scale with level)

what class are you, DKs have been overnerfed, Scourge strike hits for carp, blood and frost are meh for pvp right now and paladins just cleanse spam diseases, the bulk of the best DK pvp spec (unholy's) attacks

If you run into a team with a warlock and a death knight so help me you just can't cleanse fast enough to save your skin.

at different parts such as Naxx, I thought the usual "Stand and spam actions" would be easy. But when I first did that I was the first to die. So I think Blizzard does a bit to add a little diversity to the game....but for the most part roughly 25%-50% is grinding.

Mmm obviously depends on what talents of warlock you're up against, but I'm usually relying on my druid pal to keep me hot-ed up over the ones that are causing particualar discomfort. My sacred sheild and flash of light used to do the same but that got nipped in the bud.

Leaving them on coupled with either a DK or a Priests's or even god forbid, a rogue, nasty work can in the long run be more of a detriment. And removing the silence effect it causes is just a short yell over to my friend away from being gone. The damage isn't so much a problem.

I agree if there's just a warlock, sometimes it's easier to just plough through it and keep and eye on what's doing too much harm. Taking them off slowly throughout the fight if possible.

People who think it's a big grind have evidently never played a Korean MMO.

It is heavy grinding. But nowhere as bad as most people make it out to be.
