How to Dress Like You're in Modern Warfare 2

Haven't you always wanted to dress like you were Soap MacTavish wading through snow in MewTwo? Me neither!

Marc Ecko's adver-zine, Complex, showed its readers [http://www.complex.com/blogs/2009/12/17/how-to-dress-like-youre-in-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2/] what real-world items to buy in order to appear kind of like three different characters in Modern Warfare 2. Accessories and garments from varied sources such as Eddie Bauer and North Face are detailed for the Brazilian gangsters in the favelas of "Wolverines," John "Soap" MacTavish from the "Cliffhanger" level and Task Force 141 from the "Contingency" mission. Keep in mind that it's not cheap to look like you're in a video game; the most inexpensive ensemble on the list totals $824.

I'm not sure it's in anyone's best interest to try to emulate a character in a game quite so much, especially since that's been known to get gamers in trouble. Plus, I don't think any of these outfits are terribly "cool." Why didn't they show us how to look like Alyx Vance [http://www.freewebs.com/mmxcalibur/Max%20Payne.JPG] for the ladies out there?

I guess a hip hop fashion magazine that basically gives away copies [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_(magazine)] can't be assumed to be as dorky as the rest of us. But, come on, do you really want to pay $1194 to look like MacTavish tramping through the snow?

None of those are particularly good. I mean, for soaps it looks like you really, really wouldn't look like him and to be a Brazilian gangster it really shouldn't cost that much. I could buy the same outfit here for £100

Yeah the price tags for this kind of blew my mind. I'll just be getting the 10 dollar cheapo sunglasses for my Brazilian gangster fantasies.

Nitpicky point that shows I've played too much COD, the Brazilian guys are in Takedown not Wolverines.

I figure since nobody gives Ecko enough attention, he's gotta do something outlandish like this. It's just a push to get people to buy extremely high-priced crap. I've achieved that spec-ops look for the total price of his slack-ass combos... Including the price of the gun. This and his Halo gear. Headache.
Ecko is an idiot.

Hmmm, while the entire thing reeks of stupidity, I had to check it out. Yay for indirect marketing I say.

Why? Because Marc Ecko and his company are perverse, arrogant jackass's, seeking only to exploit popular media for profit. Also he's about as 'street' as my fat suburbanite white buttocks.

And the people in the third pic are not TF141, or from the Contingency level.

How in the world does a tactical vest (About $70) cost only twice as much as a yarn beanie (Over $30)? Don't answer that, I don't care anymore.

Morons. Complete and utter morons.

And did the game ever specify Soap's first name?

If something's popular, almost anything(and I mean anything) will sell if you brand it to that.

I agree with the complaints about the price tag. And noone should ever wear this in public. But who out there could honestly say that they would want to dress up in full snow equitment to go airsofting (or paintballing if thats your thing) out in a snowstorm. It would be awsome, and cold, but the awsomeness would even it out.

So any reason I would want to look like a psycopath in the first place? That would usually be my first worry.

Fuckin' Awesome! now i can dress like soap McTavish in arctic attire, which is shown in one single mission, for JUST 1194 dollars! Man, Soap really did help you in "Wolverines!"

I could buy a computer with that amount of money, or mayhaps food!
