Isn't that the easy part? Compliment them, tell them they're beautiful, buy them something pretty or cute if they like that kind of thing.
I agree. Compliments are the cornerstone of any successful relationship....as long as you pay attention. If they get a new haircut, new outfit or if they wear glasses one day instead of contacts, point it out and tell them it looks good on them.

What I do is I find out what they like, and hide it somewhere with a note attached. My ex for example loved white chocolate and purple flowers. So I would hide a single purple flower in her purse with a note attached like 'I miss you' or 'have a good day' before I went to work. Or sometimes whenever she hugged me I would slip a small white chocolate bar in her pocket/handbag.

Warm up birthday gifts are a great idea too. Say her birthday is on the 15th, get her a small nick nack that you think she'd like on the 12th, 13th or 14th. That way she knows you won't forget and that you're thinking of her.

It depends on who you are and who she is. Long ago when we were really broke, my husband went to the library and borrowed some books he thought I would like, wrapped them and that was my christmas present. I was so happy! I'm a big reader, and he had put a lot of thought into the selection.

It's the little every day stuff that matters. I wake up and breakfast is ready, or the car is already de-iced when I go out to do it on a cold day.

On the other hand... I know a girl who want presents, the bigger the better, and if you can't afford them, then you're not the boy for her.

Cooking, humor and shoes. I did that 'how well do you know women' test on facebook and got 100% even taught i've never had a GF. Sitcoms thought me most of it.

Buy her a single rose out of nowhere. No special day, no reason, just cause you love her or she was having a bad day.
My boyfriend does that. It always makes me happy ^_^

Cook her something special or make a fun dessert. Want something game themed? Try http://www.snackordie.com/

Like everyone says, depends on what she likes.

So, I was wondering, how do you make a girl feel special, without getting physical beyond cuddling and kissing and such. And Im not asking for advice, Im asking for ideas, special things I could do for the girl I love :)
Set up an elaborate surprise for her. For example: My boyfriend and I play Team Fortress 2. On my birthday this past year (before we were even dating), he set me a hat in the game, with a custom name and description to match another weapon I had. I found it very thoughtful, but couldn't thank him in person since I was out of town.

And then a few days later when I came back, he put a package at my door that he made look exactly like when you receive a gift in a game a purple box with red ribbon. The tag on it said "To: <3 From: Ikebukuro" (a reference to an anime we both enjoy). Inside the box was a hat that looked EXACTLY like the one he got me in the game. On it, of course, was a tag with the same custom name as the other hat.

I fell to my knees when I unwrapped it. It's the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for me. Hope that helps! :D

Show that love in the every day small things, be thoughtful, think of her, centre your actions and intentions around her. Most of all, treat her like a human, not some love object you can lavish soppy affection on. Love is practical as well as the romance, show it in how you live your life with her.

OMG my boyfriend got me a TF2 hat for my birthday too! But he didn't get me a REAL version of it...that's AWESOME!!!!!!! Very romantic!

Agreed, but a little drama/fanciness/sappiness is nice every once in awhile too ^^

Ninja'd and /thread right there

Be Cheesy. Unless you know the girl hates cliche' and that then don't. There is a reason why being cliche' gets to that point it works.

Make her feel special and wanted. Let her know that she means something to you. Respect her and love her.

Treat her as a person, not a sex object.
I believe you speak with wisdom and of truth.

OT: Basically, what the guy I quoted said but also be creative. You know her better than us, do something for her that'll make her happy.

Hmmmm.
Well, i have a lot of ideas that if I could try on my girlfriend, i would:
If you live in a region with forests, take her to the woods, after a long hike, talking walking, breathing in nature, find a clearing, and tell her that you love her with your whole heart, and then kiss her
if you live near a beach
walk with her there, and tell her you love her while watching the sunset
If you live near a mountain, take a hike there, and when you reach the peak, look over the horizon, and say to her that she is as beautiful as the view, and as majestic as well
if you live in a city, look up a local bookstore, and then buy a book which you think shed like, that is, after shwing up unannounced just saying you were in the neighborhood thinking of her, and tell her you do that a lot, thinking of her that is
if you live in a snowy area, make her a snowman, holding a heart made of snow, and then at his feet write in the snow " i love you______"
if you don't want to go outdoors, then rent a movie which she chooses, make her dinner ( not microwave, just something thar says that while I'm not the best cook, I'll cook for you)
If you want to make her laugh, rent a funny movie, and then just cuddle with her.
finally

1) Talk to her
2) Listen to her
3) Be nice to her
4) Do things she would enjoy doing
5) Hold open a door or something else that would surprise her and be seen as unexpected courtesy
6) Buy her some little gift that is for some reason meaningful to her
7) Want a bigger gift? Skip the jewlery and flowers and other expected crap, buy her a day at a spa
enen though we might disagree on God, we agree that the best way to love, is to make her feel as warm and happy as you do, and that you please her that way

Its not hard, complimate her (be sure not to complimate her too much, that's fucked me up before). Also give her a gift, doesn't neccesarily need to be for a reason, but if you remember something like a birth day you get bonus points.

Thank you for making me laugh. This was one helluva way to start this thread.
OT: I'm tired, so I can't really think all that well.

You want to please a girl in a non-pysical sense? Simple. Stop trying to. Be yourself and that will be enough. Sure, going out of the way to show you care every once and awhile is good, but for the majority don't try. Just be yourself and leave it at that.

How about just talk and spend time with them? You know, treat them like a human being. We tend to like that.

Generic ideas will result in generic response from generic girl.

Here's the big three :
* undivided attention (listening and either feeling a genuine interest or at least feigning it for a while before you subtly change the topic),
* borderline cheesy pampering (being polite, helping her out, generally acting like a clingy manservant),
* gifts galore (you almost never can go wrong with flowers, jewelery or perfumes if you have at least a moderately decent taste and a deep enough wallet).

WARNING - first two may put you at risk of entering "the friend zone", so make sure you're NOT in danger of slipping anywhere near that before you lay it on too thick.

But, you know, that's all so... underwhelming.
Nothing earth-shattering special, if you know what I mean.

If you REALLY want to make a girl feel special, PUT SOME EFFORT IN IT and find out what she wants/likes (hint : just let her talk, and you better listen) and do THAT, or something based on that.
If you can afford it, that is.
Do you have any such information ? What kind of girl is she ? What does she like ? Any distinguishing traits from the generic "girl" template ?

Flowers! Get their favourite flowers, in my experience they love it (but don't get roses, too cliche).
I beg to differ. Roses are romantic. (Though it may help that roses are among my favorite flowers.)

OT: I read the topic title as "How to please a girl non-psychically" when I saw this thread.

OT (for real this time): Just do little stuff that's actually meaningful. If you want to buy her a present, get her something that she likes. Has she mentioned her favorite snacks? Get her those, her favorite soda, and invite her over for a movie night. How about a favorite restaurant? Have a date night out there. And, of course, tell her she's beautiful. (Do not say "hot" / "sexy" instead of beautiful. Personally, I think those words say more "I want to get in your pants" rather than "I want to be in a relationship with you.") Us girls are people too. Just treat her like a person you respect and care for, and the rest should fall into place.

well if the recent cornetto ads are logical, take her to the ISS as a conversation starter, get her a kitten and write a poem about her favourite things. and finally, give her either a cornetto or a fuzzy letter 's'.
