WoW will end in not a bang, but a whimper.
It's eiter this or it goes out like a rock-star. Which is to say, face down in a puddle of vomit after a heroine overdose.

It will probably be something extremely lore-rapey as the whole game has been since it was created.

Just read the article on Matrix Online ending with the Matrix dissolving into nothing. Also read about how Tabula Rasa had the final fight.

WoW seems to be going strong, but after the final Lich King boss is revealed, will there be anything left? I don't play WoW myself, but I'd be interested in hearing how the saga ends in maybe the next 10 years, depending on when WC4 is released.

Or will the Horde and the Alliance go back to their never ending struggle?
CG movie of all the characters in all the land having a massive orgy while screaming, "der took er jeb!! der ka dir!!

WoW will end NOTHING! Clear ? WoW is a MMO and has and WILL never have anything to do with the story of Warcraft 1, 2 and 3 + Frozen throne. I am WAITING for Warcraft 4 (And OH YES! It WILL be released, like it or not) and then we will all find out.

WoW has NOTHING to do with the story and I don't care how it ends - because it CAN'T end

With Zombies.
They did zombies before the release of WotLK.......

OT. I've noticed a lot more trolls lurking in trade and general chats, needless to say, it could become the next /b/.

WoW development will eventually slow to a crawl or a complete stop, leaving only achievement chasers, pvpers and RPers to stick around while the majority of the playerbase moves on to WoStarcraft.

Servers/Realms will be consolidated and the list will shrink over time, until one day, likely many many years from now, some re-org or company merger will result in some new execs turning off the lights. The now small community will cry bloody murder, but nobody will care.

All the max leveled players will have a gigantic tournament. All players below the max will be killed off in a suicide mission type raid.

Adter a champion is crowned in a tournament, he is then sent to fight a gigantic boss that he has no chance of winning against, and the boss destroys azeroth and the game ends.

It will end after they have released their next crazy money sucking black hole (which May be World of Starcraft or maybe a Diablo MMO... just speculating). But as far as the story goes... maybe the whole WoW world will realize its lame and just go away or go all emo-style on its self.
