I always find it weird when people say "My funeral isn't going to be all sad like the others; I want it to be a party!"

If they actually had a party on your funeral, it would probably just be awkward and untimely...

That's because you aren't thinking of it the right way.

Picture this....First get cremated away from others. No wake and no services. Set up a huge party outdoors somewhere, supply booze, music, maybe a bonfire (seems fitting).

Then once everyone is having a good time you get someone to pick up a microphone and give a quick speech about how you set this up pre death and ask everyone to send you off in style as your ashes are scattered to the wind. Everyone cheers the music picks up and the party continues.

That's a party I'd go to and talk about for the rest of my life.

Cremation, bury the ashes under a nice tree, or on a nice mountain after a hike.

Why cremation? well, for one thing, I don't like the idea of decomposing slowly. For two, no one can dress my dead body in a suit (it's SO not my style. It would be so messed up for any friends). And three...if there is ever a "zombies rise from their graves" thing, I will not be contributing to the problem.

As for the funeral...One formal one for any old family members who want/DEMAND it, and then a huge gamer party for everyone else, because, well...why the hell not?
