Why, on an Earth that God will stand find worthy and pure, would Marvel do a movie about a bad short-series when they still have Moon Knight, Iron Fist/Luke Cage*, Wolverine**, Ms. Marvel, Black Panther to film?JaredXE said:Actually, Smith could totally play Isaiah Bradley for an adaptation of Red White and Black, maybe have him popped in as a cameo....maybe something to set up a Young Avengers-type thing....
Honestly, I only count MAX Nick Fury as the *real* Nick Fury.SomeBritishDude said:[img/]http://www.iwatchstuff.com/2009/01/14/nick-fury-sam-jackson.jpg[/img]
Nick Fury, as seen in the Ultimates comics.
Sorry white Nick, but badass mother fucker Nick is the best version.
But true, Nick hasn't changed in the "real" marvel universe and Sam Jack beats Will every time.
I haven't seen enough of Hamm or Valley's work to comment on their acting, but you're right, they do look the part. And Eckhart is an excellent choice.BrynThomas said:I present to you what I posted a while back:Falseprophet said:I can't even think who would be a good Captain America. You need someone who looks like he could actually kick ass, but has the acting chops to make an inspiring speech about liberty and justice, and could believably pass for a WWII vet. The problem is most "action stars" today are scrawny, snarky pretty-boys.
Who would I cast? Well it would have to one of these three, in no particular order.
Skarsgaard would be great, but I wonder if Hollywood could cast a foreigner as Captain America. I read an interview with Incredible Hulk director Louis Letterier where he said he'd love to direct, "but no way would they let a Frenchman direct Captain America!"BrynThomas said:
I dunno. I like Ackles, but I can't picture him as Captain America. Granted, I haven't really seen much of Supernatural.BrynThomas said:
I really hope it's Skarsgard. He was in talks to play Thor, before they picked Hemmsworth. He would have made an excellent Thor as he's big and Scandinavian. His father also has a role in Thor, they haven't revealed the role, but it's Odin, that would have been awesome with the two father and son actors playing father and son gods.Falseprophet said:MASSIVE SNIP
so am i the only one who can never take that actor in a serious role? not that i hate him, i like him but... i mean every time i see him i think "oh hey look its van wilder!", which is going to make the green lantern movie kind of weird to watch for me.BlindMessiah94 said:Because it would be too much trouble to get Nathan Fillion to play him?
I have nothing against Chris Evans but it really bugs me that Marvel keeps using the same pool of actors in every movie.
Rebecca Romijn, [b/]Ryan Reynolds[/b], now Chris Evans.
Willis is fucking perfect! Evans sucks (2nd worst actor in the FF movie). Not even worthy of playing bucky.Khell_Sennet said:No, no, NO!
NO! I fucking mean it, NO!
Bad Marvel! Go to your room.
Here's the deal... You get ONE (1) marvel role, take it or leave it. We can't start casting the same people as two different heroes or villains or before you know it, we have this confusing mess and a lot of "Clark Kent is never around when Superman is" problems. What if, as they inevitably will, they start crossing-over the franchises? When Avengers play alongside the Fantastic Four, will Cap be missing every time the Human Torch is on screen, or are we looking at the kind of "Double Impact" 2x Van Damme approach, and have to explain why the pussiest character looks and sounds like the king of ass-kicking?
And Evans sucks dude, not to mention too young looking and literally reeks of douchebaggery. He is actually a worse choice than Will Smith (whom I love as an actor, but you can't have a black Captain America. Nothing racist, but Cap passes himself off as GERMAN from time to time, I don't think the Nazis would fall for it with Smith). Lets try Bruce Willis.
No, seriously, hear me out...
Willis comes off as this archetypal hardass character, but he does have phenomenal acting skill, and I truly think he could pull it off. Surrogates was a bad movie made good, all because of how well he played his role. He does funny, he does action, he does drama, and I'm betting all my chips that he could sell us on the role.
Well what other Marvel character is Ryan Reynolds playing other than Deadpool? I mean Green Lantern is DC not Marvel Same with Rebecca Romijn?ryuke2009 said:http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk-chris-evans-wins-captain-america.html
confirmed now....
