Link still needs to stay away from the Hu Lao Gate.

I definitely want more information. If I do buy a Wii U, this might be something I want.

Well, I actually just got a Wii-U today (the Legend of Zelda one) so colour me intrigued for this. I loved Dynasty Warriors and I love Zelda so this could be interesting.

I can only imagine what is going through Mr Croshaw's brain right now. After years of trying to persuade NIntendo to shake up the formula for their games, they've now gone and shaken up the most solidly set of the lot. I'll be curious to see how this changes during development.
He will complain about it. It is what he does. This happens quite often. Yahtzee makes a very specific complaint, that complaint is addressed with a new entry in a franchise, and he finds a way to crap all over the new thing despite it being exactly what he asked for last time around. This time I can easily predict the shape of the complaint: "They tried to fix a stagnant series by combining it with another equally stagnant series." The only question is if he wraps this criticism in a dick joke or an ass joke.

This is how Zero Punctuation works - Yahtzee pretends to be a massive hypocrite asshole. It is the online persona that he has fostered because it is a pretty good joke that never runs out of material. Negative criticism is easy to write and funny to read/watch. At this point bitching about the big 3 is literally how he pays rent and puts food on the table. If he stopped bitching about Nintendo his livelihood would be threatened.

Well, Nintendo was saying they wanted to shake up the formula a bit and removing everything that makes a Zelda game a Zelda game is definitely doing that. Can't say as it really persuades me much, though. If I wanted to have fun playing through a near mindless killing rampage, I'd probably just play God of War again.

In fact, I think I'll do that now.

I'd say that's proof that sometimes what you think you want isn't what you actually want.

Can I play as a Goron crushing all beneath my mighty, spiked tread like in Majora's Mask?

I think this kind of spinoff would have been better suited for a Fire emblem game but it still looks really cool

This looks pretty cool. This is the first thing I've seen that's made me consider someday getting a WiiU. I'll definitely be watching for more details on this.
Just get a Dinasty Warrior game instead as they are all the same and its a lot cheaper, you can even get them with robots, anime characters or just a bunch of vanilla chinese dudes and dudettes.

Good sir, It's as though you took the thoughts directly from my brain itself :)

One thing that I noticed all through out the trailer was that scarf Link has and that I think it looks really cool for some reason.

Wow, Nintendo is farming their stuff out to some really weird people (Other M with Team Ninja). All I can say is I'm praying Mario gets handed off to Suda 51.

Well, it looks nice, and it's the first Zelda title I've seen that isn't horribly self derivative in years, I'll give it that.
But it also felt kind of...barren. Like the easier modes in Dynasty Warriors, where nobody is really attacking anyone else except you and the other officers. All that general milling about.

I have not the words to sum up my anticipation, this looks like it could be awesome, just ramp up the difficulty a bit and have the grunts, y'know, actually attack you, although I think featuring Link as a guest character in the Wii U version of a Dynasty Warriors game might have been enough, still I'm very interested to see what old Zelda enemies make an appearance, and my god I hope you can play as Shiek, you need at least one ninja, or similarly styled character, trouble is I struggle to think of many other Zelda characters, maybe they'll make a bunch of originals for the game

Interestingly he looks like the scarf one of the Link's had in the manga prequel that was included with the Hyrule Historia.

Anyway, I think this shows just what Nintendo has been doing with these collaborative projects. This is actually the 3rd time they've collaborated with people from TK (Other M was one and Pokemon Conquest was the other). This definitely makes me wonder what other companies they'd collaborate with. At this rate I hope they ask CAPCOM to do a VS game with them or have Arc System Works make a Metroid fighting game. The possibilities are endless!

Also, was anybody else laughing their ass off like me when they realized that the VGAs got trolled by Nintendo holding off an announcement like this for a Direct? I almost guffawed myself into a coma

As fun as this game looks, half of what I love about Dynasty Warriors is the fifty some odd characters you can play as.

I'll be disappointed with a roster of three or four... and even more so if Link is the only playable character.

"On first reaction, it seems crazy. After a moment's passing, it seems like a fantastic idea"

That is exactly where my mental process went. What? A Dynasty Warriors' knock off cash grab? That's crazy. Then I considered the fact that Dynasty Warriors is incredibly carthartic and fun and why not get to play as a character I know and love.

I wonder how they'll add value to the game though. Dynasty Warriors has a large list of characters with various backstories and fighting styles to switch things up so I wonder how one character, even Link, can pull this off?
