That reminds me I have this one pokemon card called "shining charizard" that has three stars in the corner instead of one, and is a basic pokemon so you dont have to evolve it from charmander or charmeleon, does that mean its very rare?

OT: I could get a new laptop to do my thesis work on with the money people are paying for this one card.

As for worst way to waste money...

Warfare.

I mean really, it's the worst way.
Actually, warfare is a surprisingly good way to spend money. Sure, lots of people die, but technology, both the murder-y kind and the medical kind see their most rapid advancements when the governments have been working on how best to keep their peoples alive (while making sure the other peoples aren't.).

Plus, it reduces the world's population, and you really can't go wrong there.

I don't get it. What's so great about that card that it gets to cost almost 1000 dollars?
Well, It's being put forth by LittleKuriboh.

Also it's one of the more iconic cards, and it's sighned by they guy who made the whole Yu-Gi-Oh thing.

Also, If you buy it for more then 200$ LittleKuriboh will call you up and say thanks.

Seems worth it.

Dang, that is worth a lot! I wonder if my old pokemon/digimon cards are worth money like this. o_O

At least it's going to charity though.
Eh... Sorry Aylaine, Not sure if your signature would add the extra 999999.999998$ needed to make them valubal...

Having seen Yu-Gi-Oh cards just 2 days ago, I'd say that judging by the amount of stars, or whatever that was in the top part of the card, that's a really powerful creature. It would be worth more than a few bucks to the die-hard player. Add to that the "charity" part and the value may increase over tenfold.
It's also worth noting that cards with 0 ATK/0 DEF are often extremely overpowered (how ironic).

Oh I honestly thought the game died when the show stopped airing.I play MTG so I'm hardly being judgmental about TCG's or anything.
Make money how? Buy/Sell ebay style?
Actually, the show's still around, albeit as a spinoff. Kind of like GT to the original's Z, if you get my drift. Too bad the dubbing gets worse with each spinoff. >_>

Edit: Oh, and there's a lot of cards more powerful than ol' Blue-Eyes here.

All that money could be spent on actually feeding the poor in Africa.

Or you could just spend the money on technology research anyway. Take away that kill-crazy middle-man.

I'm not sure I can beat a $610 pokemon card for the biggest waste of money award. I'm even taking a screener to prove it to my friends who will of course be sceptical.

That goes against human nature though. Killing each other is something we're genetically predisposed to, it's something we've always done and likely always will. Might as well have some fun with it, right?

My friend had 3 of those when he was younger. If he still had them he could sell them for a good bit of money

So, the seller has sold 2 items on ebay and the shipping is free. Then the seller claims it is for charity... it's now up in around 600 dollars... maybe I should start some private charity work on my own?!!!

My mate once paid for membership of a low budget porn site. He paypal'd them £5 and they sent him a link to the members area. The link was searchable in google and could actually be accessed by anyone. To rub salt in he couldn't get the videos to play either.

it's not at all that powerful, you check efects or Att/Def for that. all those stars just mean a fuckload of sacrifices.
