Hmm giant waste of money was a short lived i-phone app, i think it was called the 'i am rich' app, it was 1000$ and it put a little jewel on your i-phones display or something, just to show that you got it, and thats all it did. A few people actually bought it before it was removed.

Other than that, diamond crusted foods.

I see nothing wrong with people bidding on the card if the money goes to charity. If someone wants to donate, but wants a small token in return, let them do what they want. It's going to a good cause regardless.

OT: The worst waste of money I've seen is alcohol. It does nothing good for you, can tear families apart, and costs quite a bit to continuously use.

According to the link it's for something called "Cards for Chairty" plus, it's a print that I've never seen before. If it truely is for chairty then at least it is going to a good cause.

Biggest waste of money? I don't know. Baseball players?

As for worst way to waste money...

Warfare.

I mean really, it's the worst way.
Yes, but sometimes, due to war, people invent microwaves!

OP: 610 dollars? I don't think so.

The worst way I've seen anyone waste money is a former friend of mine with heavy OCD. He kept buying the same DVD's, over and over again. He had 35 copies of Sin City alone.
My mind is blown. There's a couple films I have two copies of for various reasons, usually buying a combo pack for a film I don't own and getting a second copy or getting a newer edition (Blade Runner, Sin City, Heat)... but 35? What the hell?

On Topic, A lifetime Sub for STO. I may be vindicated, but in the meantime, that's 200 bucks or so.

People still play Yu-Gi-Oh?
yea, to tell the truth, i do, i find it a lot of fun, and its a easy way to make money.
Oh I honestly thought the game died when the show stopped airing.
I play MTG so I'm hardly being judgmental about TCG's or anything.

Make money how? Buy/Sell ebay style?
i made 35 or so bucks off of 3 cards, and the town i live in runs cash tornaments, so when i win, i get cash.

I think the OP is missing the point of charity. You're not buying the actual item, you're giving money to charity and the item is like your proof of generosity or something. Obviously some people understand. It's like writing a check to a charity, and getting a receipt...only in this case the receipt can also be used to play a game.
i get the point of it, i just, i odnt know, it feels weird to me that someone is willing to pay that much, i dont know how to say it.

Look up "Black Lotus" on ebay...this Blue Eyes is nothing...
... WHAT?! $89,000.00?! I almost pissed myself when i saw that!

I don't get it. What's so great about that card that it gets to cost almost 1000 dollars?
Well, It's being put forth by LittleKuriboh.

Also it's one of the more iconic cards, and it's sighned by they guy who made the whole Yu-Gi-Oh thing.

Also, If you buy it for more then 200$ LittleKuriboh will call you up and say thanks.

Seems worth it.

Dang, that is worth a lot! I wonder if my old pokemon/digimon cards are worth money like this. o_O

At least it's going to charity though.
Eh... Sorry Aylaine, Not sure if your signature would add the extra 999999.999998$ needed to make them valubal...
Haha, I mean just their base value. Their the older cards, and in good condition. Maybe I can find a collector or something. If I could sell them and use the money for something good, then I would.
the card's base value is only about 10 bucks or so, theres a lot of cards out there worth a lot more, i once saw 1 card, 1CARD go for 100$!

You had to flip them over too, cos they only held 60 minutes per side.

And they were huge!

I was originally was going to say private collections, but then I saw the second bid. Holy fucking God (yes I sense the irony) 18000 dollars for a piece of paper?

Ye olde Black Lotus is a mainstay of a lot of non standard or limited proxy MTG tournaments (in which people can make an obscene ammount of money) so it's not rare to see the buggers selling for absurd prices but Jesus Christ that price is insane.

It does however include airfare and 4 nights in a hotel.

Bargain!
