I was thinking a possible goiter when I read 'neck', but since they've also appeared on your testicles it's a bit trickier. Your dad's response is awkward at best. You need to at least get some confirmation at this point, and then go from there.

You can't afford health care? This is why America's health system sucks huge, hairy, man grapes.

NHS FTW!
I'm glad that America doesn't have a universal health care system. Our country is full of obese bastards who are eating themselves to death, and I don't want to have to pay a penny of their medical care.

It does quite suck for people who have legitimate health concerns that they themselves didn't bring about though (like cancer). That's why fat people ruin everything, roller coasters, airplanes, health care.
Cancer can be cause by smoking as well as drug abuse and as such can be self inflicted.

Lynphatic nodes: your glands either side of your throat, your armpits and groin. I think theres another place too. If they're swollen you'd kinda notice.

also goin to a internet forum mainly about videogames is probably not the best place for medical advice. I've heard doctors are pretty good at it thou if that helps... :)
(I attempt humour in awkward situations)
And yet, you be amazed just how often people do come here with some pretty surprising health issues. I suppose if your really shy or embarrassed about a problem going to the doc could be an issue for you, were as on a forum you create a phantom account and keep your anonymity as well as there actually being medical processionals who troll these boards. *Shrug*

Yeah, and little children are dieing from easily preventable illness because their parents can't afford decent medical treatments. Way to go.
Small children? People can always make more... And they will! -_-
Am I a bad person for thinking that spending money to cure AIDS in Africa is just annoying the gods and making them think "well, we tried, next time we won't be so nice about it. Better find another way to kill off millions of those damned humans"?
Yes... Yes you are... You are a bad person to be believing in gods.

But I get ya :p
We are too many and we aren't getting any fewer.

Several actually. A few on my neck and last night I found one on one of my testicles. They are all fairly hard and round and maybe half the size of a grape. When I approach my father with this he either tells me that I don't have cancer or that if it is cancer we can't afford to have work done. We have no medical insurrance and no real money, because he went and lost his job the useless fuck.
I need help guys (and ladies) , does this sound like cancer, and if it is what should/can I do?
[sorry for the typos, I'm a bit irrational at the moment.]
Sounds like you probably got same thing I used to have. I can't remember what they're called, but they're just little pockets of calcium and shit that hardened, just happens to be in the same spot that cancer can be. Go to a free clinic or something anyway, though. Even if it's not cancer I feel that "fairly hard round lumps" in your neck could fuck some shit up sooner or later.

You're 20. You almost certainly do not have cancer.

Find a free/cheap clinic and have a basic check-up done: poking and prodding, no fancy MRI business or anything. They'll probably tell you you've got a lymphatic infection, like some other posters have mentioned.

Ask what you need to do to make it go away & stay away. Chances are, "eat healthy, get 8 hours of sleep a night, and exercise regularly" will do the trick.

Ahhhhh it is this kind of ignorance that gets people killed. Thousands and thousands of young adults are diagnosed with cancer. Telling him it's almost certainly not cancer might mean he won't bother to get it checked out.
Always say that it's possibly cancer -which it really can be- and then when it turns out to be cysts, benign tumors, fat/calcium deposits, or any other harmless/easily treatable condition he'll be better off having had it checked out.

I laugh, because I too am lumpy. All over. A few on a leg, some on torso, also on arms. Not on nads and thankfully not on face either. All different sizes from pea to grape. And some are not evenly shaped either. You should definitely go to a doctor. You should also ignore the hypocrisy of that statement. I've no intention of visiting a doctor.

This is what I meant. Go find out and hope. The whole finding one on testicle thing makes getting tested seem more important.

It's not ignorance, it's statistics. Yes, it could be cancer. No, it's probably not.

I did suggest that he get himself checked out. (And yes Stalk3rchief, if you're still reading this you should get yourself to a clinic.) But in a sensible way - find a medical professional to poke at you & hope that it's easily identified as a lymphatic or other condition.

Paranoia + statistics + screening = false positives, headaches, and skyrocketing health care costs for us all. The short version is that false positives on testing for rare conditions actually tends to cost more than it saves, in addition to fueling a mindset of paranoia & misfocusing on the little things while ignoring the big things. I can't count the number of people I know who stress about .01% bizarre shit they saw on a medical drama, then fail to wash their hands after using the restroom.

What I'm trying to say isn't that he should ignore it. Just that instead of assuming the .01% freak accident chose him as a baseline, take a neutral stance & let a medical professional do the diagnosis. Not to put words in anyone's mouth, but "What's wrong with me?" is a much better starting place than "Prove to me I don't have cancer." Especially at 20.

Go to a doctor immediately. Seriously, if what you're saying is true then it's not good. If you've just noticed them then they can most likely be taken care of, but you have to go NOW.

Wait, are you saying they wouldn't treat you for cancer in America unless you could afford it?

Go to a clinic at least.
Edit: My uncle had a sore on his face for over a year. Turned out it was cancer now he has a large wound in his face.

According to your profile you are born in 1990. That means you're old enough to date girls who study medicine. If you play your cards right you can get two birds stoned at once, find a sugar mommy and have your nuts examined by a professional every day (at least until you marry her). Best advice I can think of if your country won't make sure you are well.

Health care is far cheaper than anyone wants to admit. If your family can afford an internet connection, than you can afford health care. But god forbid we sacrifice cable for health right?

@OT: WTF is wrong with you? If you're seriously worried about it then you shouldn't need to be told by strangers on the internet to go to the doctor.

So I find it hard to believe someone finds lumps on his body and decides the appropriate action is to ask advice on a gaming forum. I'm going to assume you're not for real because any sane and reasonable person would have already gone to a doctor.
That's excatly my thought as well. It's so weird to see what people can ask about, even about possible life-threatening situations.
