Mother-fraking Luigi's gorram Purple fething Coins! (ie Luigi's Purple Coins from Super Mario Galaxy) I did have an epic feeling of accomplishment when I did finish though. I went into that galaxy with 139 extra lives and came back, star in hand, with none.

Another thing was Horizon from Mass Effect 2 on Insane as an Infiltrator. Two days worth of focused gaming effort were to no avail, I ended up turning the difficulty down for that. I eventually beat Insane with a Soldier, much easier (not quite as fun).

Oh yeah, Mile High Club from CoD4 on Veteran. I actually beat it but that was on my brother's profile. Since I've made this new gamertag I tried to beat it again but couldn't. It really annoyed me when the timer ran out during the firing animation that would have killed the last terrorist.

The first time I attempted the stallion horsebreaking I was growling and fidgeting like a werewolf having his fingernails pulled out. The reason?

I was using the wrong analog stick to try to steady myself on the horse. A facepalm moment if ever I had one. Learn from me kids, read the directions.

dud i had the exact same problem i was going around squashing everything in my path like i was a marian god and then all of a sudden bam i get shot to death in like three seconds, it helps if you have the jetpack so when your tank is about to explode you can just run away

I'm a bit stuck on one of the cross-examinations in one of the Ace Attorney games. Trials and Trib's, I think. And I decided to not use a walkthrough.

I haven't been stuck on any level really bad since LoZ: OoT, back in 99'. Right near the end of Jabu-Jabu's belly. Being a 7 year-old, the first thing you do when you enter the second room is smash those stupid wooden boxes for the blue rupee, regardless of whether you have 99 or not. Because blue rupees rule.
It it wasn't until 6 years later I found out that you have to place one of the boxes on the switch to the left to open the door to the penultimate chamber. Poor level design if you ask me.

And then another length of time on the Water temple. Although I'm not sure that counts. It's probably considered more of a right-of-passage for N64 players, no one beats it on the first run.
I hope we got stuck at the same part in the Water Temple...

Right after the fight with Shadow Link, you get the Longshot...after that I was stuck for months...literally months...cause I never thought to look behind the treasure chest where you get the longshot...

Hardest level in the game, the final boss fight pales in comparison.
Guess what? That same exact level is back in Galaxy 2, but with painful clones of yourself that follow your exact path! In all seriousness though, if you manage to get through the original level, Galaxy 2's incarnation shouldn't be much of a problem.

I-No in Guilty Gear. She makes me want to tear out what little hair I have...
Took me forever to beat her without continuing 20 or so times. The first time I did though, I was kind of disappointed I didn't get the chance to have Order-Sol hand my ass to me in five seconds.

That reminds me of something Aksyss games currently has me doing over and over and OVER again: score attack mode in BlazBlue. Not only is the difficulty of this mode separate from the rest of the game and unchangeable, the final four of the cast of 12 characters are fought against their "unlimited" forms, meaning that their power has gone up at an insane level.

Ragna, the last guy you fight, is in permanent Blood Kain (super mode) that usually lasts around 10 seconds and is activated as a super move, which gives his lifestealing attacks a ridiculous boost. Plus he can use a super grab that comes out without warning (he can only use it with Blood Kain active) which usually takes around 70% of your health away. Did I mention he has about three times the normal amount of heath he normally has?

Playing COD4 on Veteran. I bought this soon after I bought my Xbox 360 and didn't have online yet. I heard nothing but good about it and what I had seen looked impressive. After, beating it on regular, I decided to replay on Veteran. It was a test in extreme frustration.

Chapter 14 of Resonance of Fate. A freaking brutal chapter. Once you start to feel confident in your abilities in this game, it freaking slaps you silly and then sends you to your room to think about what you've done. >.>

Clones. That follow you. Whaaat?
Anyway I guess It can't be that hard if it's the exact same level layout, I can just use the same route.

The Water Temple. I'm ashamed to admit it, but the series that began my gaming career is also the one I haven't finished. I had my brother beat that bloody temple for me, and even he used a walkthrough. Got through the rest of the game by myself, though.

The fight with Dagoth Ur in Morrowind, I eventually decided to just drink all my shiel potions, gap it to the ledge, levitate down and give Akulakhan a right beating.
It worked :D

SWAT 4 is the only game I've never finished unwillingly, and it's a very hard game in singleplayer. I finally beat the red offices level, and got stuck on some other level so I just said screw it and beat it in Co-op, even though that doesn't count :) The only game I never beat optionally were Halflife 2 and HL 2 EP 2 - Cause I couldn't finished them...
How does that make any sense? HL1 was the only one that made me rage. That stupid debris kept on breaking my elevator.

FFXIII's Barthadelus. The second time you fight him, in the town. He just keeps casting doom on my leader when he hits half health or whatever. Can't kill him fast enough. Also CBF grinding.
You think that's bad, wait until the last battle. The guy casts death on you every 10 seconds and there's nothing you can do about it.

OP: Modern Warfare 2 on Veteran Difficulty. I got tired of hearing Soap yell "I got your back Roach, move move move!" And then immediately die when I move, move, move.

Seriously, fuck you Soap.

Really? I found that level really easy, there were much harder things throughout the game but that last level was really a cakewalk for me... :p
Yeah well.... I.....

I really don't know what to say, I think that level was made to not be beaten...
Now I feel like I'm crap :(

My game died before I could. I've even thought about finding a new copy and finishing it.
Eh, you could just look the ending up on youtube.

Although I don't think you'd get that feeling of accomplishment from doing so...
