I just don't understand people. (LA Noire related)

I don't think they understand that's it's about the police, not mass-murdering European immigrants. When you work for the police, you can't kill people indiscriminately and you do have to do things a certain way. I imagine that Rockstar will represent this well in L.A. Noire.

Incidentally, if you want to play as a cop who kills for no reason and does whatever the fuck he likes, there's probably a Mass Effect mod where you can play as Garrus somewhere on the internet. And I guess there'll be games wherein you can do exactly that anyway.

I have to agree, I am looking forward to getting a good story out of the game in addition to some action thrown in for fun. Can't just have mindless rampage all the time, and it looks like the dialogue/investigation could get pretty challenging...got my vote.

And, for those who havent seen it yet, there's an online badge pursuit sweepstakes going on - $30,000 prize - if you want, check it out http://www.gamestop.com/mrkt/landing/la-noire/badge.aspx

After the great dissapointment Mafia 2 was, I am looking forward to L.A Noire to satisfy my craving for hats and old cars. With that said, the less shooting the better, I like games that revolve around characters (and players) using their brains.

Welcome to the reasons as to why I'm falling out of love with games.

This site has offered some much needed respite, but the majority of the market is slowly becoming saturated with trigger happy, two second thrill addicts with no desire for anything deeper than a longer reload.

Not to say that I don't occasionally want a game where I sit back and kill some people, but why does every game have to be?

This game will sell well it's a given; I just hope Rockstar remain one of the developers that maintain their vision for time to come.

I honestly haven't been following this game. I'm sure when I do pick it up it will be a pleasant surprise.

But it is a shame the average gamer has to be killing other people. I have seen many of my friends not even pay attention to what people are saying in SP and lose patience because they haven't killed anything for a few seconds.

So LA Noire doesn't have a sandbox mode? Well thank god for that. I don't think it would fit the tone of the game at all.

They're doing exactly the same thing all of you have done, wanted a game that wasn't geared towards them to be made perfectly for them. Have you ever complained about CoD lacking a deep story? Congrats, you've done the same thing. Ever complained about an ARPG lacking deep mechanics? 'Grats, you've done the same thing. Ever complained about a game being too simple, or too complicated, or too open, or too linear, or whatever the fuck? You get the picture.

I'll probably be getting this game, but not new. The fuckers decided my money isn't worth the whole game, so they get none of it. And it's one of those games that won't simply be decent, it'll be either amazing or atrocious.

I'm definitely giving this a rental but what I don't like is their pre-order "bonus" (gameplay) dlc going to different retailers.
Also, the "realistic" face thing doesn't look all that hot. It's interesting that it's sophisticated enough to pick out gives but the characters still look creepy. They just look like creepy holograms now.
