Don't worry too much about it, I just spent almost £50 on MW2 because it was the prestige edition and I wanted to play with NVGs.

The problem is the story with avatar, so try and just pretend it's all a series of pretty lights, and blue people.

NVGs are really cool.

Absolutely agree, the movie will not move mountains by its storytelling prowess, nor it's grasp of the scientific (did anybody else wonder how the earth-sized moon in the orbit of a gas giant held an atmosphere?) but it does showcase how close to photo-realism we have come with our artificially created video effects.

And on the avatar? Flashman is awesome and more people should read it. Certainly everyone who read Twilight. (If you watched any Blackadder and enjoyed that, read these books right now!!)

The story can be ignored but the visuals are stunning. You'll feel mildly high from all the colors for a bit after watching the movie.

The story is an old one, but the stunning visuals and very detailed world of Pandora breathes new life into it.
It was worth my ticket when I saw it in theaters, and it was worth it when I bought it on Blur-Ray.

OT: Like Baby Tea said, it's a story you've probably heard, but the visuals are amazing and the creatures and flora of Pandora will quickly make you forget about the story.
All in all, it was a good buy for me.

I would say it's a gorgeous fun stupid movie, but it takes itself quite seriously still, so unless your with friends, you'll probably miss out on the fun part of mocking it.

This. I also found the characters fairly shallow and predictable. I thought it was a good movie, but for me it has no rewatch value, I almost fell asleep during one of the later montages the second time i watched it.
