A skeletal troll made out of any bone that is not a hand, foot, or skull. It had to fashion these regions of its body by crushing the bones of other creatures and piecing together rough equivalents.

A feral Goliath. It thinks in images and emotions because it does not know language. Normally quite intelligent, every time it must fight it loses some of that intelligence until it nothing but a ravenous clawing monstrosity.

An incorporeal, telepathic, diplomatic scholar. Given his lack of body, his race is rather irrelevant. Incredibly adept at acquiring information both by volition and attrition, if he is ever refused, or his telepathy resisted, he begins "prying" at your mind until it breaks.

AND... A magic wielding ferret.

A monster with a constantly shifting, flickering state. Maybe could change between thousands of human images, at random, or from the targets memory. There features could never move, but they would still speak in maybe a constant sorrowful monotone.
That could work too....but i need it to do something malevolent......ok, i'll make it capitalize on the target's guilt or something, or maybe to lure him in a trap.
I like the guilt idea, it could maybe, force the memories of regret and remorse into the victims head, while reminding them through voice, the constant barrage of thoughts forcing the victim to the floor and then to death. Also instead of a monotone voice, it could say words in a mixture of loads of peoples voices, or maybe it could keep switching between voices that the victim would recognise.

I'm actually really starting to like this xD

do you know who Torquemada was? (The High Inquisitor in Spain), you could bring him back from hell (where he is due to his interpretation of god's desires), every time he walks, he leaves blood footsprints from the people he killed... oh well I'll stop now, I think I am a bit off topic
Torquemada, an Inquisitor eh?.....hmm perhaps.....a possible then. thanks.

Utilise the uncanny valley.
Have the monster be a shapeshifter that starts out in a wierd complete alien form with lots of tentacles and eyes and shit, but with every encounter, it starts looking and acting just a little more human, until the disguise is almost completely perfect... but just almost.
For extra mindfuckery, make it's human disguise emulate specific traits of the hero characters.
Hmm...to deceive his friends eh? Fine, the concept id going in the box of ideas *enters box*

quote]

I wasn't really thinking deception, more like "ok, this guy is a total monster in every sense of the word, but when you think about it he isn't acutally that much different from us." Try to scare them by questioning their morality or showing them what consequences some choices in their past have had, by having the monster repeat them before their eyes.
Or to put it in internet meme speak: No John, you ARE the demons!!1
Ah.....! I am ashamed......i though to literally.....yes.....'you, john, are the demon is going to the box.

All of them are viable monster ideas (box soon overflowing), if i won't use the monsters per se, i'll probably take some of their characteristics. No the Magic Ferret (which i think you got from negima) is not going to touch my story.

Good idea, but i rather the guy go insane and maybe go berserk at his comrades saying "i can still HEAR THEM!" or something then die, preferably from his own berserking rage.
....and everyone loves a good story.

The opposite of the doctor who angel thingies, a monster that can only move when you look at it. So you have to keep your back turned at all costs. And possibly, it could be able to do some things that would scare or tempt you into looking.

A digital monster. One made from the data sent around the net!

Calumon: Wow, bet no-one's thought of that before!

Has many eyes. Some to watch you, so to watch it's back, some to watch your family and eveyone you've ever loved.

Something that plays on your inner fears, secrets, and shame, twisting itself into whatever horrible nightmare lurks deep within your mind, brutally combining and twisting itslef into new, more godawful nightmares, before eventually slowly murdering it's victim, after toying with it for so long.

Good god, i think i'm a bit fucked up, no?

EDIT: I do belive this would fit for more of a Mythical creature, some sort of creature intended for punishment, gone rouge?

a monster that is like a tick. it's very small and almost impossible to notice, but when it sucks your blood for a while, it gets larger and grows inside your skin. after that it starts to mess up your brain and later control it.

not very used if you ask me.

A monster that feeds on waste and grows stronger with the more it consumes. No weakness.

A standby that I've used before: An astral projection given off of a variant on a supersoldier, or a big bad with Zen-like training.

My personal favourite projection being a solid being that looks and billows like smoke, or (considering FF) an ethereal miasma. Probably a bluish purple considering the franchise. Anyway, that flits between animal or half-animal forms to do whatever. IE: Charge as a chocobo and turn into a marlboro mid-leap to try and eat someone.

One that appears to be a hallucination, or a mesage from god. It lets some people live, as they will spread it's mythos as preachers. All the followers are bathed in liquid that it can smell and see from miles away. That way, anything it attacks will be of the "religion" and think it is about to be made holy, and will not fight back.

Main character could be someone who accidentaly came into contact with it and escapes. The beast turns the religion against him. This results in either them being hunted or (if they were some kind of political figure) a huge war.
Hmmm.....this could work.......Clarification from you, will it be something like Slender Man, or something like cthulhu?

I'm not familiar with slender man, but I pictured it as more ethereal than Cthulu.

Phobioflex: A monster able to bend your fears to go against you.
Bob Grey done it sorry.
And so has J.K. Rowling.

I've got some awesome ideas but being a writer myself I don't want to give them away.

However, one idea I don't think I'll ever use is a monster that possesses electrical devices and can cause them to malfunction. Not to dangerous most of the time, they'll just cause lightbulbs to short out, but sometimes they can cause a transformer to explode, car's brakes to stop working, train going to fast, etc.
