Thanks. Yeah, this poem is meant to be hard. I don't think anybody has ever guessed it, seeing as how the answer is deeply engrained into my personal mentality.

I'll give one last hint before I finally reveal the answer:

Every single sentence is meant literally.

Yeah, that's what I thought. That's why it's so damn hard.

The most annoying line of all though is:

For technically I don't exist.

That drives me mad as hell. It's even worse now that I know you're being literal and not figurative. That one line instantly voids any of the answers I was going to give...

Alas, the answer is technically what you just said... the void of anything; or to rephrase it more clearly, absence.

To warmth, I am the frozen blight - Cold is the absence of heat.
And I am evil to all good; - Evil is the absence of good.
I am darkness to the light - Darkness is the absence of light.
And barren waste to grass and wood. - The absence of organic life.

I'm what makes the rich turn poor; - Absence of wealth
I'm what makes the cup run dry; - Absence of content
I'm the source of every war - Variable, depending on the war... absence of understanding, wealth, hope, etc.
And what makes the living die. - Death is the absence of life.

Know that I am everywhere,
Oppressive as a tyrant's fist; - The void of space
Know too that I am nowhere,
For technically I don't exist. - Absence is technically nothing.

I was going to say "loss", but I thought it sounded corny.

Nice riddle though, the best-written one I've seen in a while.
