i think 90% of the western population knows the sphinx's riddle at this point.

heres one i know a bunch of people know, four men are standing in a straight line, all are facing the same direction parallel to the line they stand in, they can only look straight ahead, they cannot talk to each other, two men have black top hats and the other two have white top hats, the fourth and last person in the line is separated by a massive concrete wall so no one can see him, they are being held captive until one of them can determine the colour of his hat. how do they escape.
