Ok, so i've only played a couple of games with friends who have the game, but I never really liked it, I found the gameplay too much like the person who sees and aims first gets the kill, and snipers very common, prehaps it was because I was playing on a console, and I normally play FPS games with a mouse, but I found myself sitting out of later games just because I didn't like it. Anyone else share this oppinon? Or really like COD and want to tell me what I was missing.

Same here. Had the same problem with World at War, too. Just...wasn't all that fun.

Not criticising your right to dislike the game but this bit makes no sense to me.

I don't see how else it could work? The quickest/most observant one wins, how else should it be?

Okay realistic me...

I though it was mediocre, and the multiplayer wasn't that great, the level desing for multiplayer was a little bit shallow. I liked Call of Duty 2 much better. SIngle player, multiplayer, the whole shabam. Call of Duty 2 is still the best in the series

Perhaps it was the aiming system, but it only seemed to work one way (as in this person sees me first, and kills me, I see this person first, empty a whole load of ammo and some grenades, and then still get killed).

No, my original post wasn't clear at all.

Yea, I really hated seeing someone and shooting at them, only to have them turn around and kill me with like 2 bullets. Especially when I know they where so close to dying

I think the multiplayer was bad but ups for single player mode, also World @t War was really boring, like meh.......but I guess when Modern Warfare 2 comes out the hype will be up forever, so I guess to us payback is a *****....

I didn't like it. I play it if my friends are all playing it, but I think I have clocked up like 5 hours on that game total. It just gets too boring.

I personally prefer Cod4 on ps3 to pc, but i guess i like controllers a bit more.
That being said, I think that counter-strike did the whole counter-terrorism idea a whole lot better. Too bad you have to have Steam to play. I hate Steam.

I enjoyed it, but you are right about the thing with whoever gets the first good shot wins.

Strange... I actually enjoyed single player a whole lot more thant multiplayer. Some of the setpieces were simply amazing. That level where the guards and a tank move right past you was just the tits. I enjoyed Condition Zero a whole lote more though. Must have finished that game like 12 times now.

I just don't like army games such as this. They've been recreated several times, it's getting old now.

Neither did I. I was extremely overrated and nothing like the original Call of Duty. The original was fun and intense and the new one just turned into a very generic game that was just big and bland and they made a mediocre game for everyone instead of a good creative game for a select few. Which is where the money is, but now where the... good... game is.

This is called host advantage, and COD4 is absolutely full of it. It's to do with internet connections and time taken for data to travel along them.
