I wish there was a branch of HMV in my town. When the recession hit, woolworths, the last good shop in the fucking shithole i call home got closed down and replaced with iceland. HMV has got games, books, posters and cd's, it's my shopping wet dream.

Uludag, I don't think you have that. And I pity you for it.

Also, you probably don't have Sala. I pity you for that too.

Anyway, I wish we had cheap cars and games like in the US.

I think you had Jolt cola for a while. I remember buying it at Storlien once.

I am very disappointed that they don't have Skittles, Starbust, Oreo Cookies, Betty Crocker cakes mixes (particularly brownie and lemon poppy seed), and Entenmann's cookies over here in Europe. And Starbucks. We need more Starbucks over here.
All the things that I put in bold are things that are available here in my European country.Which would be Iceland.ICELAND.Hell,we even have all those things in my hometown.Where there are less than 300 inhabitants.Well except for the Starbucks.

OT:I wish that we had a better form of currency here in Iceland.I would gladly take up the Euro.It wouldn't get in my.

Good chocolate. Your American stuff is just ridiculous.
We have good chocolate, we get chocolate from all over the place. Cadbury, Ghirardelli, and other chocolates from other countries are easy to find.

I wish we had a Walmart.
Asda is owned by Walmart. That close enough?

So far, the one thing I can think of is that fast food outlets and cinemas in countries like Germany and France can and do sell alcoholic beverages, but I've yet to find such an establishment here in Blighty.

Whereabouts do you live? The last time I saw Mountain Dew was in Southampton, a few crates of it stacked on the shelf of an offie.
Woot, Sarfampton. I think i know where you're thinking of, and they do a load of US imports (like Mountain Dew, but also things like Lucky Charms, Nerdz etc) so i don't think that really counts - they put a massive markup on it, a box of Lucky Charms'll set you back about 13 quid if i remember rightly.

I was going to say something along the lines of Firearm laws or related things, but I'll be damned if you haven't rekindled my desire for Vanilla Coke. They stopped selling it here in the UK years ago even though I loved it :(
They stopped selling it in Norway too, I was a sad panda the day I found out :( Vanilla Coke <3

Agree wholeheartedly. Where I work we have the mixes now though, so I get vanilla, cherry and apple(not so good...)coke all the time.

In a way I miss lucky charms, and I know they still have them in America. I don't think I'd eat it if it was sold here though, nostalgia is probably just making a fool of me.

Well, the ones I've had were ridiculous. Does that mean you actually have to import English chocolate? Because I'm sure I heard that there is a different Cadbury recipe for the States.

I live in Central Illinois, and go to college around central Iowa. Funny thing is: Both of them are completely outside of reasonable driving distance to White Castle. If anyone has seen "Zombieland," one could compare my love for White Castle to Woody Harrelson's character's love of Twinkies.

It's probably for the best though. I would probably have my own TLC special about my weight if White Castle did move into town.
Your name wouldn't so happen to be harold or kumar..? xD

OT: I envy the US lots of things, mostly candy or other food-related items. Also, my town lacks any kind of mainstream fast-food shop, though not that it bothers ME, more my sister, and we have this shop called Outland a few places in Norway, which is my dream shop since it sells every nerdy thing that's not anime or manga related or a game. Heck, once I almost bought a 1-up mushroom plushie x3.

I know some is imported but I would not be surprised if some is made here. If they do make it different that would be totally retarded, although I would not be surprised.

I wish we had decent broadband in Ireland. I am supposed to be on a 3mb line but I only download at a speed of 20k/s. Now I know I won't download at 3mb/s but my friend about 40 mins away can download at 150kb/s. Although I was originally on a 1mb line when I got 50kb/s then when I was "upgraded" it went down.

Now that I'm on a posting in Korea, I'm going to have to generalise broadly and say REAL FOOD. Seriously, everything here tastes either like it's going to kill you, or that the makers felt it wasn't going to have given you diabetes quickly enough.
