Japan, if only to get their best minds on building a working model of this...

Then, once a small army of mechs are completed, I shall conquer this puny planet!

China, to set in place better policies regarding environmental and human health, freedom of speech and anti-corruption measures. I think they are growing very well - I just want them to grow into something that will be for the definite betterment of their people.
Method: Political and corporate conspiracy, media freedom.

North Korea, because I want freedom and human rights for their people.
Method: Media warfare and relief networks.

EDIT: This assumes I have the resources and knowledge to realistically succeed with my goals. Otherwise a takeover is pointless.

...I'm sorry, what was that?

You do realise that the entire reason we went round taking other peoples countries is that ours is so horrible right?
Well that explains the Bahamas and Australia but why did you have to take Ireland? From a geographical perspective it's basically just more of the same!

Taking England mightn't be a bad idea though. If you could take that and re-strengthen the commonwealth you get Canada and Australia in the mix too.

I would conquer Russia. Because once I have it, no one else can take it from me. Name one person that has managed to take Russia, besides Russians?

Australia

It's the only country I can think of that both challenging, yet doable...
(Just imagine those early race riots during King and X's time... only with weapons used in Gunslinger Girl... and without the "race" part, of course...)
And then, a bunch of laws will change under my ruling...

I'm sure my pending assassination that would come years later would be both satisfying and a bit saddening, since my overall ruling was more polarizing than choosing just one game of the year every year... (and everyone totally agreeing to it without hesitation...)

I would conquer Nepal.

Why? Because my fledgling empire will be in need of the best, toughest and most tenacious soldiers it can find.
The Ghurkas, in other words.

USA. Oodles of natural resources, oodles of people, oodles of space, a smack of just about every major culture or topography or biome you can think of, and access to some serious military hardware to replenish my stores/give me raw materials so I can finally implement boltguns as standard issue "small arms" (boltguns are f****** big).

Also, the political system is so fucked that the people will practically beg me to hit the reset button on congress. I won't run a dictatorship, more like the existing constitutional republic but with myself as the emperor on top of it all. There's a good few small changes I can make too to prevent the system from borking itself again in a single generation. I might even be able to experiment with the system since it's not like someone's going to successfully revolt, I have the souls of my entire army on lease!

Invasion plan? Most populated states simultaneously in a massive shock and awe attack, then consolidate and focus on the few states who haven't surrendered after the national government is under my thumb.

Japan. They're the country that would most likely want to build my giant mechs that would inevitably fill my armies.

As an Australian, New Zealand. They really should stop pretending to be their own country and just join up with us already. We can trade, Kiwi birds for kangaroos!
How cruel. Australia attacking New Zealand would be like beating up your little brother.

Your slightly uppity, insecure little brother.
Hey I'm open to a peaceful merger. But you just seem so stubborn on maintaining your "rights" that war is the only option I'm afraid.

Besides once we're one country, that trans-Tasman sea rollercoaster/race track I've been planning may finally be a possibility!

The Normans started it, I guess they didn't realise the mistake they were making, but you can't leave a job half done.

Um ... yeah. Might have missed the boat on that one.
Read my later post. I have to keep the Right-Wingers in line somehow.

Though I have to ask, what should I do with Hannity?

I'd conquer Australia. The way I see it, even though it's just one country, it also counts as a continent, so I'd get +2 reinforcements a turn for having it, which would give me a slight advantage over those who chose a country that isn't a continent. Then I could just mass my troops in indonesia every turn and voila! perfect defensive bottleneck.
Good idea, though it only sometimes counts a continent. Other times, it's part of Oceania, along with NZ, part of Indonesia and various smaller nations.

Might have to conquer them for that to work, and Indonesia has like 15 times the population of Australia. Better check the rules first to be sure.

See the underlined section.

OT: According to Forbes, I already live in the best country in the world, soooo... some warm, peaceful country so I can move there and no longer have to suffer winters that go on until the middle of April. And of course if things didn't work I'd kick everyone out and offer free living space for fellow Scandinavians who also have grown tired of the cold.

That, or China so I can enforce a mass genocide there and turn it into the world's greatest national park, saving countless species, the ozone layer and the world from overpopulation and massive pollution in the process.

:D To some people, it is.
*puts out a rain catcher*

But mostly we would just make it less expensive/difficult for us to visit.

And don't sell yourselves short. You have something very valuable as a natural resource.
:D Your wonderful people.

xD Your wonderfully, tasty people.....

[sub][sub]Nah. We won't eat you. All people taste terrible ;p[/sub][/sub]

Ah-ha.
I missed that part amidst the general chaos of the statement. One person who managed to take Russia besides Russians (as opposed to 'one person that has managed to take Russia, besides a Russian) created a grammatical paradox that warped my sense of reality.
Yes, I did invoke the Hammer of Grammar on you. Are you reeling from the impact yet?

And Genghis Khan.

Nope, he died way before they got into Europe, and Russia didn't exist as a country back then, it was a cluster of principalities that didn't even reach the lower stretches of Volga. and they didn't manage to take the whole area that would later become Russia [Edit, although considering the bit they left was basically Siberia that may well have been through choice].

Touche, old boy. Touche.

Well, best of luck to you in sweeping through the Russian front! Maybe we'll hail you as the Fist of Winter fifty years from now!
