If you could get thousands of gamers back on to one dead muliplayer game, which game is it?

I'm torn between BF2142 for Titan Mode and Crimson Skies for crazy dogfighting in customizable retro warbirds. DICE will telease BF2143 one day and everyone will say it rips off Blops2...they won't know...

Oh, how I would love to play classic Lineage 2 again with filled servers. It was filled with assholes and brutal clans but they just made it more exciting.

The game would've been still growing strong if they didn't make so many stupid updates to change the rules that made it unique.

BF1942: DC mod with all the bugs to exploit and grief people like I used to.

Everquest Rallos Zek or Sullon Zek server from Classic to Planes of Power for awesome PvP, especially before they took item loot out of newbie killing and before they made people PKable at Lv6.

Nothing was funner than one shooting newbies with a bow at lv 6, them unable to escape me because I had faction (and before they put in faction hits for killing people in their hometown), then pissing people off enough that all of Nektulos Forest and the Commonlands were after my troll and still beating them all up, untwinked.

I'd love to have a game of Icewind Dale 2 online with some peeps, though i'm not sure it was ever popular.

Either that or proper old school DOTA (i.e. before shitty allstars)

The first would be Skullgirls. I genuinely loved the game, but the online base was rapidly disappearing for various reasons. The second would have to be Marvel vs Capcom 3. I guess the community isn't too dead, but it is to me in terms of original characters. Everyone picks practically the same people over and over again. The third and final would have to be one of my absolute favorite games of all time. The original Xbox title Phantom Dust. I loved that game so much <3.

Either Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. One of the best team oriented based shooters I've ever played. Sure the combat was a bit unrealistic, but overall, it had the best team mechanics I've seen with actual unique objectives to each map without this "capture the flag" crap.

Age of Empires 2: Conquerors: This one is just a nostalgia hit, one of my favourite games I grew up with. Was devastated when the MSN Gaming Zone no longer supported cd-rom games, I feel like a massive part of my life changed forever.

Using a program called Gameranger and changing settings to onlyw AoE2C. You will see that there are hundreds of games a day. That being said, France is effing broken...

FFXI. The greatest community I've ever known in all my years of online gaming, hands down.
I agree with that, I went back on this week to find everywhere deserted (phoenix server). Personally I blame the field books and abyssea for making the game too easy, people can now go from 70 to 75 in a matter of hours where it would take days before.

Add one more for Modern Warfare. Maybe MW2. I also kind of miss the very first Call of Duty and Halo CE.

While not dead, make some vanilla WoW servers and i'd play the shit out of those if only for the PvP cause that PvE would get destroyed in months.

Crimson Skies: High Road To Revenge

Best online multiplayer on the xbox. No, I did not forget Halo 2. That's how awesome Crimson Skies was.

CoD(1) or Delta Force 2. DF2 had sniper only games with landscapes that went on for miles, and you could go hours without seeing an enemy sniper. Guillie suits actually worked, and the sniping mechanics were wonderful.

Bad Company 2: Vietnam, yes I know there still a several servers are up that are even full, but I wish was a lot more. I still think BFBC2 is much better then BF3. Also the classic no hats etc... TF2. The first few class updates were good ,with payload and all, but it really got out of hand and I just cant play it anymore.

I would have to say Dead Rising 2. Could hardly ever get a game of Terror Is Reality on the go. Shame because I found it rather fun.

Too many...

Rage of Mages I & II- Just an awesome game that needs to be revamped to work on PCs properly.
Tribes II- Skiing is easily one of the coolest mechanics I've ever experienced.
FFXI- Though I'm pretty sure this is still alive, I'd like it to go back to the start because that's when it was the best. While the mechanics got better, people just don't give lower levels or new players the time of day.
Diablo- The original, because it's the best.
WCIII MOBAs- Legends of Eternity, Age of Myths, Battleships Crossfire & the original DOTA. Pure perfection.
Rainbow Six- Again, the original. Tactical shooters for the win.

I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them.

Planetside. I know it techniclly is not dead, but is declining with no where near the amount of players it needs.

There is nothing funner then a 3-way 1000vs1000vs1000 battle :D

Shooters: Section 8:prejudice- Honestly a game ahead of it's time and really did innovate when it came to playing an FPS game. Solid game, cheap at the price and A LOT of customization.
This. Oh sweet mother of god, this. Also, the XBL version of Team Fortress 2. Then maybe Valve would give the console owners some love.

Everquest. To this day, still the most immersive MMO I've ever played. EQ2 would be a close 2nd.
