If you could have a game made for YOU, what would it be like?

I would love an (MMO?)FPS RPG with controls like CoD4, Plays like Far Cry 2 and fallout 3, set in a future where there is a zombie apocylispe and your one of the few survivors, and you have the option to do whatever you want as you have a massive game world spanning across a couple of cities. You would be able to drive vechiles and use random objects as weapons like Dead Rising. There will also be a bigger storyline involved which you can choose to follow, which could involve something to do with a cure? And if its an MMO if you get heavily damaged by a zombie, you turn into a zombie, and to only way to get you back to normal is if someone finds the cure and uses it on you.

Hmm, hard choice. It would be a game which revolve around a combination of FPS, RPG, and RTS gaming. It would be a huge sandbox world, which constantly evolved not only in response to what you did but also on its own. The levels wouldn't specifically be designed for you to go through them, ie, there wouldn't a convenient trail in the middle of a forest unless it made sense, or rocky cliffs wouldn't have clear paths to go across. You wouldn't be told what you were supposed to do, and you would be able to complete the game in as quick as five minutes or 80 hours depending on what actions you took, as well as the current position of the world. The FPS parts would be done by Valve and the RTS part developed by Relic/Blizzard. The RPG elements would be an extremely in dept character customization to the likes of which I can't describe. There also wouldn't be a story arc. Instead you'd just be plopped in a giant world about as big as earth and the point is to live your life until you died of old age. Every other time you died you'd start the game over from your save point. It just be a giant world with thousands of people and thousands of places and you could just what you wanted to, with no restrictions whatsoever.

It's a complete pipe dream.
That's quite a bit of what I'd like, apart from adding FPS and RTS elements. I'd also like the non-story thing, but my game would probably still have bosses to kill. You can live your life, but there are still places to go that could probably be called dungeons and the like, simply because you can go there, defeat some great beast, and be declared a hero. It's possible, it would just take a lot more work than a story-driven game.
What I mean when I say FPS is that the entire game would be done in first person. You'd never see things from a perspective other then your own. Come to think of think, don't know why I said there would be RTS elements.
Yeah, I do rather like the first person perspective. It's just that when you said RTS elements, I thought you meant there would be a lot of viewpoint switching going on.
The game should feature extensive character customization, eh? That way, with enough time, you could make a character look exactly like you, or like the exact opposite of you.
And: REALISTIC HAIR-GROWTH SYSTEM GOD DAMMIT
Would be so awesome.

Idk, never played it, but it looked steampunk-ish.
I played it a bit, it's set inside the dreams of the composer Frederic Chopin when he's on his death bed(a stranger premesis for a game I can not think of).
Didn't see any steampunk in there though.

I would like a story driven RPG/Space Sim(real-time combat), basically Mass Effect meets Freelancer.

Preferably it would take place in an existing universe like Wing Commander, Babylon 5 or Star Wars.

I guess Bioware with EA's backing could actually pull it off.

I don't think it's too far fetched to think that Mass Effect 3 or something would also involve real-time space combat, Kotor already had sequences where you manned the turret and raced pods. And The Precursors which is already in development sort of has the same idea.

Well, after 40+ replies I guess I should sound off eh?

Very well,

Mine would be an RPG set in an FFXII esque universe, lots of airships but very little grit and grime, more high gloss and medieval esque symbolism. Basically Gaslamp Fantasy, not quite steampunk.

I would want the overall gameplay style to be what I hope Dragon Age will turn out to be. A party based RPG with Pause and Play combat, Mass Effect style Dialogue and Bethesda's knack for making every skill/ability at least somewhat useful in the overall game.

You would create the main character in the same sense that you "create" Cmdr. Shepard in Mass Effect, you decide on appearance, abilities and background, but the character has a personality, one that you can shape, but never truly define. As well the female Main Character would be voiced by Jennifer Hale. The male lead would be voiced by David Hayter, not doing his Snake voice, but he's wickedly compitent anyway.

Though it would have a WRPG feel overall, I'd like there to be some JRPG elements. Mainly the crazy enemys, elaborate but somewhat impractical weapons and the sometimes more colorful character designs. Basically it would end up looking similar to a more polished World of Warcraft when the product rolled out.

The music would be handled by Yasonori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger).

The overall story planning would be handled by a combination of Drew Karpashyn (Biowares lead writer), Masati Kato (the Story man behind Chrono Trigger, Xenogears and Chrono Cross) and the original designer of Final Fantasy XII (he also did FF:Tactics and Vagrant Story but had a nervous breakdown while working on FFXII, he didn't end up finishing the game).

So, yeah, I'd want that game made for me.

Tim Shafer would have to be the writer. It would be an action game. The story is about a boy who is suddenly in a video game, but not the cheesy ?Whoa I just got pulled into my FPS. How wacky is that.? Just one day he goes through crazy happenings nothing making that much sense of how they are connected but each event could take him through a different genera. All the while he makes caddy comments of the situation and questions his how is he able to do these things like drive spaceships and jump 5 feet in the air. There would be a level where he tries to run away from you wearing a tinfoil hat. They already have a game like this, it is the Simpsons game but it was an overall failure. I would want something like it but with Tim Shafer?s brain behind it. I would gladly pay double for a game like this.

The huge, immersive world of Fallout 3.

The runny, jumpy, twitchy gameplay of Mirrors Edge/Assassin's Creed

A Ghost in the Shell-esque setting.

The music would either be from the Mirrors Edge music team, or the World of Warcraft orchestral team.

RPG with a good vs evil alignment. You would change your alignment and progress through the story via the quest chains that you do and after a cataclysmic event halfway through someone would approach you and try to get you to switch. Unique stories and endings for all 4 combination of initial and subsequent alignments with your character having personalities ranging from moral absolutist prick to fallen hero to dark and sadistic heretic.

I'd probably get someone to make me an RPG, based on 3.5th or 4th D&D, on computer, online capabilities, and have a plot that makes Baldur's Gate and Knights of the Old Republic look weak and badly thought out, all the while offering me problems, challenges, engaging NPCs and SPCs who have their own quirks, names, personalities and so on. There needs to be a variety of enemies, areas and places to explore, numerous side quests and enough things within the game to keep me coming back for more. It needs characters that make Minsc, HK-47 and Drizzt Do'Urden look normal and enough of them to make them fun to find, but not so much of them to make them a burden to the story. There needs to be an alignment system, chain quests, the main story (duh) and hundreds of other things to do. Like being able to forge your own weapons with the right Feats and Skills.

Any town that isn't destroyed or conquered somewhere in the storyline, or has a sadistic, violent, or villainous, main character. I like GTA and FFVII, but I'd never want to live in Liberty City or Midgar.

An RPG where you could transform into a number of different animals at any time. Being able to swim, fly and run on land.
And i mean ANYTIME, not just certain parts where you can only use one animal.
Oh my god that would be awesome.

I always want more games where you play as animals.

I guess a game made for me would feature a dragon as the main character, with platforming like zelda, but larger, so you would have to fly places...and it would be in third person and the phrase 'turn-based combat' would never be mentioned.

Spyro doesn't count. I love spyro but it's more linear than what I want. And I want it to be a big hulking ugly dragon too...-swoon-

I have hopes the divinity 2: ego draconis will be close but I have my doubts. And I really don't want to play as a human at all. xD

Someone please steal my (unoriginal) idea and make a good game from it. Please.

(You know what else would be fun, is controlling a small flock of dragons, like five, each sized differently and with different abilities. but I want two games now. Maybe this flock one can be a sequel to the one I described above. fufufufu...)

A turn-based RPGs that make fun of other RPGS, like Final Fantasy, Eternal Sontata and the like...so basiclly a comedy game...we need more comedy games.
