If you hate CoD, why do you keep buying it?

So with the release of Black ops and the upcoming MW3, more and more people are jumping on the bandwagon titled "I hate this franchise". Now if the amount of people I heard say "Im not getting the next one" actualy kept their promise, CoD wouldnt have made nearly as much money as they did. Yet year after year they go gangbusters in the games market, now becoming the best selling video game of all time.

So what Im curious to know is, if you apparently hate it so much, why keep going back? I'll admit I said I wouldnt buy black ops, or MW2, but I did it anyway. I'm starting to feel like an abused housewife coming back to a drunken husband, you know he wont change but you cant seem to leave him.

I said I wasn't going to buy MW2. Ended up going for it after 3 months of nagging about how awesome it was. Around the whole business where Russia invades America and the douchebag general starts killing soldiers I gave up hope in both the series and the taste of my friends. Haven't bought Black Ops, not going to buy MW3.

Instead of spending $70 on a game that had a 50+ million dollar budget and still managed to bring nothing original to the table, why not check out Steam's "$10 and under" category and potentially find a real gem? Maybe you'll even be able to play it for more than a couple hours before moving onto multiplayer, where you are instantly killed by a 8 year old using grenades as a primary weapon and an RPG as a secondary.

I don't. I love the MW storyline, but I will no longer buy any CoD from Treyarch. Fuck Black Ops and how broken it was.

black ops is the only cod i bought around the release date, and this was only because i like zombies, to buy a game, not for the campaign, not for the multiplayer, but for a minigame....you know the franchise fucked up somewhere lol

I bought CoD4, really enjoyed it. But didn't buy CoD5 because it was by Treyarch, didn't buy MW2 because they had removed dedicated servers, by then I had lost interest in the franchise so I didn't buy Black Ops.
