Athena from God of War, or Athena from Saint Seiya, or just plain old non-ficitional but rather mythological Athena. Athena is my favourite God of any fictional or non fictional religion, and Kratos killed her in God of War 2. ... To Hades with Kratos! Even though he comes back to life all the time.

Just a question I thought of that might be interesting. If you were to worship a fictional God which would you worship. And no saying "I would worship God cause he's fictional" or anything like that. Let's not start a flame war.
Personally I would go with the Marvel comics version of Thor. He's awesome and goes around hitting people in the face with a lightning hammer. I've always wondered if he had worshipers in the Marvel universe since he was a God and told everyone that.
*Edit* I suppose I should be more specific. By Fictional God I mean a God that was created in a work of fiction and was never worshiped seriously. You can however get away with worshiping a fictional version of a pre-existing god like how I choose the Marvel comics version of Thor.
Ok, I think I still have some wiggle room for sattire:

Xenu!!!

I'm not sure if OP (or others on this forum) understands this but: ALL gods are fictional.

And no, don't give me that "no need to bring that up/Bringing up personal belief is uncalled for", because apparently it's perfectly ok to say thing like "thank god/ god bless you, etc." on this site, when there was clearly no need for such things.
(I'm not offended reading such things, so I see no need to get offended when I or others make Atheistic comments. Especially when it's just there for comical effect, it's kinda what we do, just like religious ppl bless ppl/ thank their respective dieties. Neither party truly mean to offend, I think both are just too used to interacting with their own kind)

OT:

The only deities I can see myself working with/for (I would never "worship" anything, I have been taught to treat all sentient beings as equals), would be the six human gods of Tyria (Guild Wars 1/2). Why? Because they have earned the respect of other races who do not worship them, mainly due to the fact that their existence and powers are undeniable. I like the idea of working with highly powerful magical beings, that are reminiscent of the interesting polytheistic religions of ancient Greece/Rome/Egypt/Scandinavia (without all that backstabbing, n raping, and tricking)

No idea if someone's beaten me to it as I can't be arsed to traipse through roughly 10 pages but Princess Celestia. Why?:

Well it's the only example of something that is described as a benevolent God and actually means it. She is perenially kind, patient, remissive and never condescending or feeling that she is above anyone. There is no striking down with furious vengeance, no Hell, no arbitrary rules that force people into acquiescence to follow, only love and forgiveness. That is the kind of Goddess that I would follow.

I'd say either Bahamut, Helm, Ilmater, or Lathander of the Forgotten Realms. Probably Ilmater.

Also, Norse mythos ftw!!!

Sheogorath. No contest. Never has a deity had a more progressive policy regarding dairy products.
This.

Or Cthulhu.

If you count a fellow with a God Complex and a superpowerful notebook, then Kira (From Death Note). If not, a shinigami.

I'll just sit here next to a sign saying "Gods don't exist", and I'll worship the first one that shows up to prove me wrong.

Kenpachi Watanabe.
He's just like the actor Ken Watanabe except he also likes to hack people up with sharp things.

Madoka Kaname is the God of magical girls. She has no reason to feel despair, and will rid you of yours as a reward for your hard work in battle. Then, you can live on forever with her in a haven for magical girls.

Watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica to understand.

I find it strange that for some reason people get warnings/comments when you state you think the Christian or Muslim (etc.) God is fictional, but people get away with saying the Greek and other 'old' religions are fictional. None of the Gods that were / are being worshipped have ever been proven to exist, so why treat people differently for stating that one God (or group of Gods) is fictional and others are 'real'.

OT: I would go for Sheogorath, he is ace :)

Personally, my favourite pantheon includes Jesus (because, without being tacked onto Yahweh's Judaism, Christianity is pre'y friendly), Odin (for badassery), the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and Anoia, the goddess of things that get stuck in drawers from the Discworld.

However, I'd be more interested in an animistic faith, similar to Japanese Shinto, except more up-to-date. There are kami for things like rivers, and there have always been gods for man-made things like wine, so why should a spirit that's a representation and guardian of the Internet not exist? If your connection goes down, head to your router-shrine, unplug it, say a quick prayer to the spirit of your router, your service provider, and the Internet in general that lasts about 30 seconds, and plug it back in again. Bam. Religion.
