Oh, contraire.
1) The porn industry is actually one of the safest places to have sex on the planet. You have to go through a whole host of tests at least every month to ensure that you don't have anything. Birth control is mandatory for females. They don't use condoms because they know they won't need one.
2) Well that's your oppinion. To me, whorring is selling yourself for money. Porn is being employed to show yourself. There's a fine distinction.
3) Just what I was thinking. I agree with you here.
Please allow me to intervene.
Safe sex is using condoms. End of story. Most porns I've seen, aside from the amature stuff, people DON'T use condoms.

1)Just because there's standards set doesn't always mean the company will do them. Ever walked into a McDonalds with a A health grade, but the place bee dirty and sketcy? Yeah.
ummmm he's right, the porn industry has one of the lowest infection rates there is especially considering what they do

most porn stars date other porn stars and don't "play the field" as the saying goes

2) Also how many porns have you seen? Girls get called "whores" and "bitches" all the time. You can't honestly tell me that people wouldn't think "man that fucking whore is hot" while watching it.
ummmm ever heard of talking dirty to someone? they are saying that stuff for a very good reason. it's because they are playing a role and stuff like this happens in real life.

there are people out there who like to say stuff like that during sex. sure there are people who say all nice and sweet stuff, there are those who like to have dirty talk and say nasty things to one another

Few things I'd like to point out about some misconception here.

First off this double standard thing makes me wonder if you people here realize that the some of the most successful porn stars are male actors that are in gay movies. I heard a statistic somewhere that stated that best gay porn star makes about twice as much as the best female porn star. Just a little food for thought.

Plus with the whole condom thing, there is actually a reason they don't wear one. There is this device that attaches to the male genitalia that pulls it back so there is no penetration. In most of the movies you see on like HBO or Cinnemax that is what they are wear and there is no real penetration. On the internet and websites that have films like that they have other measures in-place(diaphragm,the pill, etc.)

1) Have the lowest infection rate as opposed to what? Yes, I'm sure the porn industry doesn't allow people with HIV and AIDS go in, but there are STDs you can get rid of and in the event a porn star does catch an STD, they can get rid of them before their test.

Also, like I said, I know a girl who does porn (and gets paid).

Dirty talk was not the main point I was trying to drag up. Yes there is an aspect of dirty talk in porn and I understand that, but many guys watching it will think "that girl's a whore". Think how many people say Jenna Jameson is a nice wholesome girl. Not many.

I also never said that porn stars were sleezy people who slept around while in relationship, so I don't know why that was brought up.

It's about what people will think when you tell them "Hey my kid's in porn". Honestly, you want to be able to proudly defend you kids in whatever they do. Porn isn't a field most parents dream of their kid going into.

EDIT: BTW, I will not argue past this point, I've said my piece. Basically, I would not like my child to go into porn.

I feel like as long as people are happy and healthy and not infringing on anyone else's rights, anybody who feels like they have a right to tell another adult what they can and cannot do can go fuck themselves.

yes some do get more curable infections but considering the industry, they aren't rampant, as in everyone having them. you are correct about the AIDS/HIV thing. lower rates as compared to street hookers and their ilk and frankly even strippers.

i don't think they're sleazy or whorish. they're just doing their job

well there's many things parents don't want their kids to do. the thing is a parent should support their kids no matter what they are doing, even if you don't like it.

You know, as far as I know the porn industry is becoming better in terms of making sure the stars don't die.

I digress. There's no job my child could do that I'd have to cut off ties. As a mother, I would love my children unconditionally, no matter who they turned out to be. However, I would admit their wrongdoings (such as in the case of rape or murder), but I would not stop loving them and I would not kick them out of my life. I kind of accepted that vow when I decided that all humans were created equal. :0

Except for robots.

I wonder if that makes me a good parent.

Yeah, You'll think differently when you become of age, "No daughter of mind is going to dress like that!"

If, say, my daughter decided that fucking other people for cash and/or grinding on a pole is for her I'd be quite thrown aback and more than a bit worried, but I wouldn't cut her off or be "ashamed" of her, and I'd encourage her to either be really, really smart with how she handles her body's health, her money, and to make proper investments; because let's face it, those careers are not exactly the most solid of job offerings and you only have a temporary window of time to set yourself for life.

I honestly can't say exactly how I'd react, but she'd still be my daughter. That wouldn't change just because she's getting railed on camera.

As long as she's safe and happy, that's all I think I would care about in the long run. I mean sure, it might be awkward, but she's my girl. I'm not going to abandon her.

If she were in danger, I would have to step in to protect her. If she became a hooker, I would have to stop that, or try my hardest to get her help.. but if she wants to have sex on camera, that'd be her call.

It's his/her life. Of course I'd be a bit embarrased, but it's my child, and I'd always be there for support. If it's his/her dream, I'll support it. If it's a way to get easy money, I don't blame them for having a hard time getting a job. And if somebody has anything against it, I don't associate myself with that person.

You have no right to dictate what your child choses to do for their job. Porn star is a legitimate choice. support them if it's what they want to do and help them out if they feel they're being pressured into it. The chances of the videos they're in popping up in your face are minimal, millions of those videos are floating around and less than 1% would contain your daughter/son.

If my kid became a whore (or "pornstar," whatever, they're the exact same thing,) I would just disown them.

No vicious beatings, no "I'm so fucking disappointed" calls.

Just refuse to speak to them or acknowledge that they were mine.
you, sir, are the devil.

also prostitutes tend to have no choice in their work, while pornstars have choice and can dictate what they're involved in

Well, that's a really tough question...
If I had a son or daughter that went into porn, I would, first of all, try to talk them out of it. If that doesn't work, then I'd still care about them and as I believe any loving parent would do, continue trying to talk them out of it. However, I would never stop caring and being there if they need me. It's something I can't be proud of, but I would support them, even if I would be trying to convince him/her to leave the industry.

If my kid would have incredibly lame job,i'd probably help him find a new one. We all have some inclination, and he could become very good in something totally unexpected.

If my kid would have decently paying, but somehow unacceptable job (porn star, drug baron,Orwellian censor, etc.),he's on his own. I suppose i did all i would do to raise him with proper morals. So screw him. Doubly so if he took this job to spite me.

If my kid would have seemingly lame job (sewer worker, coal miner),but would like it,there's nothing wrong with that.

If my son became a porn star I'd probably give him a high five and pat on the back but that's just me. However if he became a Rent Boy I'd probably estrange him from the family...

EDIT: Unless he became a gay porn star. He'd still be my son so nothing would change but I wouldn't high five him or give him a pat on the back.
