the integral problem of skrym is that it gets crippled by consoles. i saw it in motion now, and it's really not that impressive as it seemed at first. obviously there had to be mighty cutbacks made in order to keep it running on the outdated current day console systems. a shame really, i don't have anything against consoles or console players, but i hate what they do to gaming, hindering it's progress technology- and gameplaywise (it all has to be controllable by 4 buttons and a thumbsticks, after all)
fixed!
also, although i dont like it, the Wii would never have been what it is on a PC... and the Wii has definitely progressed the industry in a certain direction.
now how many buttons can a player opperate simultaniously operate at a time? 2? 4?
yes obviously consoles of any kinds have progressed the industry somehow, just in a direction i would rather not have seen it progress. stagnatic graphic, simplyfied gameplay, "streamlinging"/dumping down of game franchises for easyer operation with controllers (no inventory and character progression system in bioshock as opposed to system shock 2, no prone in bad company 2, no lean in mw2...), peer-to-peer online BS, no more LAN play, pay-to-play-dlc...all stuff spawned from console gaming i'd rather have avoided making contact with pc games.
all the shoulder buttons and, up to 2 face buttons... so six.
in terms of controls, i agree that for many games i dont agree with what
they've done...
they being developers, not consoles.
Yes, Brink on the PC has lean and they removed it on the console versions, but just look at Lost Planet 2 where even Y+LT and LT+Y do different things. These are mostly down to a decision made by a developer, as i doint recall ever using all 110 buttons on my keyboard and mouse in a single game.
