Although it is cool, I do not think why should I use a mirror for that.

I am not very geekish you know to do this kind of stuff...

I'm actually going to buy two oval mirrors and make one blue and orange. Sure it might not be a perfect portal, but it sure will be awesome. This may look fantastic in my hallway, so long as no guests ever come and laugh at me.

Find a pair of oval-shaped LCD screens, and embed a tiny camera in each of them. Set each camera to transmit to the opposite portal.

Presto, you have an orange portal displaying what's on the other side of the blue one, and vice versa.

Nice idea, but it's impossible to create a mirror portal like that, because the blue and orange portals would have to be on the same spot - or be one and the same, which you can't do in Portal. So let me be the first to point out;

FAKE!

FAKE!!!!

This is an obvious photoshop job. You can tell its a fake because the shadows are all wrong.

This is a lot like the scene in the movie Never Back Down where Max tried to pay for a traffic cam speeding ticket with a picture of money.
if you get this you are my hero
I did what you see there.

I must have it. I must!

I think I just found my new home-warming gift for my new apartment!

I would definitely get another one, colour it orange, and arrange them to face each other, thus creating an infinite portal tunnel!

And then I'd get dizzy and fall over.
I would just stand there for hours, waiting for Chelle to run by.
One could also put the two mirrors opposite on floor and ceiling, and try to jump through and go for the 30,000 feet achievement....but without springrunners on you'd end up breaking your ankles at the least. If it actually worked.

I just cut a hole in my wall, painted it blue. Works great, except for the exposed electronics!

Oval or circular monitor. Camera. Overlay camera image with portal effect. That would be the ideal setup for this kind of thing. I guess the real challenge would be finding someone who makes oval or circular monitors.

Still a pretty neat if pedestrian little find though.

I actually thought for a second that IKEA had perfected Portal technology -.-
So did I.
I'd so do that...but my friends are dumbasses, and would run at it, hoping to go through, then blame me when it broke.
