So in order to solve your problem, say that you're proud to be Danish, not proud to be white (as this is stupid). Be proud of what you've done with your life and the things you've achieved, the people you've brought joy to.
In a world where Europe's identity is slowly Melding into the overall EU, it seems that the unification of the traditional "White" countries may beginning to mimic the tribal loss of the African Americans. It is hard to say i am proudly Masai, Zulu, Koi San , Chewa or Berber (yes i lived in Africa for 10 years) when you are unaware of who your people are so we broadly categorize with Ethnically in order to ascertain our place within the world
the problem with being disconnected from your culture is that it is easier to Identify yourself the struggle of your people rather than the proud traditions, art, music and history on which your culture is based. As far as we have developed we are still very Tribal in Nature and have a need to define ourselves within a group context for the good or bad. a family group after all is nothing but a tribe who impart to us our contextual filters for dealing with the community at large and with ourselves within the context of acceptable patterns of behavior sanctioned by the tribe.
The problem with isolating a group identity and placing yourself under a generalized heading of Black, White , Asian etc.. is that it can become a broad canvas of suffering and as a method of identifying your culture with pain and guilt it keeps the individual trapped in a cycle of victimization that not only disempowers the individual but the group as a whole.
If we are ever to move forward as a unified people we first need to heal the wounds of the past, forgive and move forward together not trap ourselves with tribal constraints. We can never grow beyond the limiting beliefs of our tribes. Therein lies the dichotomy, we need to experience life as part of a group and yet to be strong enough to have views outside of its patterns of limiting beliefs ,least we enslave ourselves to our tribes ideals
Be proud of who you are, love your culture for its achievements and rich history but be humble and respectful of others cultures and Do not look at the disempowerment of others and confuse it with strength
otherwise "for as long as there is me there is you, and as long as there is suffering it is your fault"
