I wouldn't do it by choice. However, after millions of years I might start to go a little insane and end up doing that purely through insanity

I don't think I could do that. Then again, when you are immortal and see the things you see and the amount of experiences you have your viewpoints might change for the worse.

Imagine, you were born immortal, unable to age past the end of puberty.
Heck, you wouldn't develop into a sentient being if you were immortally a newborn! You'd just be a tiny little scientific curiosity, subject to millennia of tests as scientists try and replicate you marvellous, yet tragic, lack of ageing.

I would go to the north pole, and freeze myself. It wouldn't kill me since I'm immortal, but until global warming fucks us all I'd not be awake.

Also if we are saying you never get sick, never die etc does that mean you'd never break a bone?

Because if that's the case I could have days of fun throwing myself off of the Eiffel tower for bets, which would then get me all the money i needed to do anything else on my wish list.

Disclaimer: Don't try that at home kids, I'm an immortal

Third option: Become a super hero and fight crime!
He is an immortal ambitious escapist poster. She's a tortured gold-digging single mother with a song in her heart and a spring in her step. They fight crime!

Got to love http://www.theyfightcrime.org/, one of the best websites ever!

My immortality would depend on a self annihilating race, I would do what was possible to keep the human race going. Immortality isn't something I would ever give up, the end of the universe will have to come to take it away if I had it.

On the perception of time being altered, it all depends on certain factors. A child waiting 10 minutes for something they want will make them anxious and to them time will seem to move slowly even though time is a constant dependent on perspective. Now the same child if they do something and occupy themselves time will seem to "fly" by faster than it is. Mood, age, perspective, they all change how time is perceived.

I'd probably end up traveling the galaxy in a stolen space-longship on a quest to insult every sentient being in the universe. That would be fun for a while.
Ah a Douglas Adams fan?

You could just wait for the newborns/children to grow older once you've dealt with the adult population, and no-one is completely innocent.

Immortality; all the way. I would decide to become obsessed with knowledge and knowing EVERYTHING there is to know. It would be hundreds of thousands of years before I had to worry about knowing everything. Oh and building an empire to basically own the world would be fun. Even if I make mistakes I have as much time as I need to try it again and again.

Sounds like you've got the makings of a good story. He or she could start out happy with immortality and willing to wait it out. Then he or she goes into a downward spiral and contemplates becoming a murderous monster for the peace that death brings but will our hero give in?

I'd like to see an RPG made out of this.

This is the first thought that popped into my head....

I'd choose to be an immortal vigilante, while remaining on the right side of the law.

eventually, the universe will end, and before that, the sun will explode. Although I think that in however million/billion years it takes for the sun to get to that point human will have left our solar system, and probably our galaxy, so when the universe ends, so will I. Just make sure that you're on the whatever deep space mission you can be, so that you aren't near any exploding stars or anything like that.

Also, after about a billion years, time would start to go by quite quickly. You eventually have no concept of time, because it would mean nothing. Whole civilizations could rise and fall in days to you. It would be... interesting.

Yeah I'd like to hear you say that when you're floating in space for 100, 000 Years, let alone infinity.
Did you miss the point that when everyone else is dead, we'd die too?

my paln: sell my soul to the devil (and don't tell him that i will live forevor) for superpowers and just fly around the earth being a super hero and maybe visit alien planets once this on e dies.

i mean, whats he gonna do? the devil isn't omniscient last time i checked. i could also fly up to heaven and give god THE FINGER!

EDIT:p.S: cookie for whoever gets the reference
