In what movies did you WANT the bad guys to win?

Star Wars (I like the Jedi, but the protagonists in Lucas' godawful series were just incompetent to frustrating proportions), Avatar, and.. well, actually almost every modern day movie so far that does not involve the bad guys being involved in human trafficking, rape violence, or corporate dickery.

or at least tell the audience why the (I forget what they're called) are trying to exterminate humanity
It was explained in the beginning narration. Every so often, man makes a discovery that massively advances us: fire, electricity, the power of the atom, and now man had just discovered something else that would massively advance us. The bad guys were the most powerful race in the galaxy. They knew we made that discovery, & it would advance humans so much the bad guys would become 2nd rate. They were exterminating humans before we could become the superpower of the galaxy. What exactly was discovered wasn't revealed until the end of the movie. It turns out, man figured out how to form entire planets & seed them with life via a process that happens in less than a year.
oh thanks. I completely forgot the openning narration, but I think the humans should have lost or the main characters die trying to create the New Earth (planet Bob).

All of them. I've never not rooted for the bad guys.
Same here, except when the bad guys are clearly shallow morons (wich is, sadly, a large portion of our villains).. then i want everyone to die in a fire.
I want to see more villians like General Thrawn (starwars novels), or Cage's character in Lord of War.
I want credible bad guys who are smart, competent, efficient, ressourcefull.. and have more to them than "being the hero's punching bag for this week/movie".
Bad without being cliche about it, like, "shades of gray morality" bad.

Falling down, Star wars Episode 1 because Darth Maul kicks so much ass, Twilight, any movie in which Mitchel Cera is the good guy.

I would have to agree with the people saying Avatar here, I felt that throughout the film the Na'vi are just being stuck up dicks who refuse to negotiate (I believe there was something in the film or supplimentary material that said that we tried making a deal with them that they'd move in exchange for things such as medicine and supplies, only for them to essentially tell us to go screw ourselves).

We're supposed to feel bad for them (remember, this is essentially a space cat race of Mary Sues here) when something bad happens to them even though it was argueably their own fault (and the fault of Sulley seeing as he didn't seem to ever bother getting around to doing what he was sent in to do in the first place).

For this reason I actually think that the bad guys did win in Avatar, it's just that most people don't admit that the Na'vi were the bad guys.

Angels and Demons. I hate the Pope. And the Illuminati had such a cool and well planned plan that they deserved to win.

It's gotta be harry potter. I know he's not the main villain but come on, who wouldn't love to see Snape give harry a crack right in the face. Fuck wands and magic and fairies, just one sharp jab right in the little cunts nose, blood everywhere, crying to hermione.
Ehm. While I like your thinking here, Snape isn't even a villain at all. Stupid convoluted plot.
But, yeah. Snape is... A double agent, for lack of a better way of putting it.

Death Note.
I know its not a movie, but seriously.
How does that even...? Well, considering how that ended, I don't actually know who you're rooting for here. Especially since the 'evil' person in that series/manga is the lead character.

Taken. The hero was a dick and the damsel in distress was an idiot.
How was the hero a dick. He wanted his daughter back pretty badly. Sure, that French Police guy got it kinda bad, but other than that he was only a dick to the people that kidnapped his daughter.

OT: Well the Empire was pretty kick ass. I kinda wanted it to win. But then I have a toss up of Darth Vader or Han Solo. And they are both equally kick ass, so I can't really decide on it.

The Spirit. And by the 'bay guys' I don't mean the people in the movie. I mean the people who thought it was a bad idea, like the actual fans of Will Eisner's comic.

People who knew Frank Miller was about to ruin a perfectly good comic book series beyond repair for the remaining generations of mankind.

Inglorious Basterds, wait... D:

If I were to answer, I think Star Wars would be more interesting if the bad guys won. I'd probably finally watch Harry Potter if Voldemort won.

I'm not sure who the good guy in Law Abiding Citizen was, but I really wanted Shelton to end up being portrayed as some form of good guy. But they kind of ended up killing any pretence that he was in some way justified for his actions and refused to go into any of the deeper problems of the justice system, which was a huge letdown for me.

Most movies... when the bad guys win, it's so much more interesting.

I especially liked it in Higurashi (it's an anime, but idc :p) and the good guys got OWNED in the Massacre arc... that was a great ending. Probably my favourite arc.

A-MEN for the Goblin King.

Also, all of the Star Wars prequels, though Anakin was a wooden and whiney little thing, it would've made those cinematic train wrecks end quicker, UGH!
