Inappropriate Oblivion Mods

For those of us that play Oblivion, most of us know that it was first released under the rating "T" and even though the console versions remain this rating, the PC version has been moved up to "M" because of inappropriate and nude mods for the PC version. Because the PC version is "M" I am not allowed to take it to my dorm in college because we are only allowed "T" and "E" games in my dorm. So my question is this. Do you have a problem with the Oblivion mods? Have you ever used them?

EDIT: Apparently there were other reasons for the rating change too, but those aren't the focus of this discussion.

And I'm going to school in Alberta, Canada, that's why I'm only allowed "T" games

EDIT2:

On May 3, 2006, the North American Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) changed the rating of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, a video game for PCs, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, from Teen (13+) to Mature (17+). The ESRB cited the presence of content not considered in their original review in the published edition of Oblivion. This included detailed depictions of blood and gore and sexually explicit content. The sexually explicit content was an art file, made accessible by a third party modification called the Oblivion Topless Mod, that rendered the game with topless female characters.[2][3]

-Wikipedia

In there it mentions detailed depictions of blood and gore.

Also, the amount of blood is a little gratuitous in Oblivion for it to be 'T'. It wasn't JUST mods that caused it to be bumped up to 'M'.

Wait, you're not allowed to bring 'M' rated games to your college? That's incomprehensibly stupid. I need to go recharge my brain...

All I can say is what kind of ridiculous colledge dorm is that? That's nuts.

Never used the mods, tho. But really... you can't play an M game?? How would they even know?

The only "inapropriate" ones are the nude/sex mods. And most nude mods even have underwear versions.

My Oblivion disk still has the T rating on it, so yeah.

I've had no problems with mods. Those I want I downloaded, those I didn't want I didn't download. Oblivion getting re-rated was crap anyway. Of course after everyone basically pointed out that the nude stuff you had to actually go out and acquire on your own and that they weren't actually in the game they jsut pegged the rating change on the Dark Brotherhood questline. And even then they only cited like one or two instances that were actually pretty big.

But yeah, Oblivion is fine, and most nude mods have underwear versions, so the rating is crap.
Consoles are rated M as well.

And besides, your in damn college, isn't everyone there legally allowed to play and buy M rated games? Whats the deal with that?

Basically, there was a mod for the PC version that eventually removed all of the NPC's tops. The details are available on Wikipedia, but basically it prompted ESRB to increase the rating, presumably in fear of another Hot Coffee.

Although, trust me, there are far, far worse mods out there.

Um, seriously.. please do elaborate on this. I don't care about the rest of your question at the moment...

This seems absolutely absurd. Where do you go to school? 1930's Berlin?

That's not even remotely true. The reason it was released as Teen, then changed was because Bethesda hid content from the ESRB. Once the game was released, the content came forward and the rating was changed.

The blood disappears after 10 seconds, so I doubt that had any effect. Like I said the Dark Brotherhood bits are what helped push it over, as well as mods.

So, doesn't stop me from playing it and enjoying it...

Doubt it's so much about the sex mods as it is about the Gore Mods... But after trying "Deadly Reflex v5" with Modular Oblivion Enhanced... Oblivion will never be the same without me turning into a werewolf and blowing a man's head into several pieces, proceeding to eat said pieces for HP bonuses.

Either way: Sucks to be in your dorm then.

The bump ups in the game were after the ESRB passed judgment on the rating. Since there was nothing Bethesda could do to stop it, they decided to at least fill in some more possibilities for them.

Really? That's what about 6 or 7 people I know have said... Sorry about that.

How can a school ban media aimed at adults, when said adults are attending their school?

Are you in a private school.. ?

Do they disallow cigarettes and alcohol as well?

And if they are banning games, then surely they don't allow rated R movies?

Actually, they got pulled off the store shelves and put back on with an M rating. You bought it before that happened.

Anyways, I use a bunch of mods that don't reskin people. So I'm fine.

I have two boxes, one i bought back in April of 06? It says T for teen.

My Xbox ringed it. So i bought the game of the year edition with both DLC's last year, and its M.

Editions for the xbox bought before the nude mod for the PC came to the attention of the ESRB will still say T.
