Infinity Ward continues to fall apart

So, it seems that the scandals over at IW aren't over. After the fairly recent lay-offs of the studio founders, Jason West and Vince Zampella, IW now apparently lost two more people that formed the studio.
The lead designer, Todd Alderman (the article suggest one "n", but I always thought there were two), and the lead software programmer, Francesco Gigliotti, both left the company last week.
The two are among the people who created my favorite games of all-time from CoD1 to MW2.
As it looks now, Infinity Ward is fucked and the Modern Warfare franchise could be going to other developers.
Not much discussion value, I guess, and if someone already metioned this, I apologised, but still, it looks like my favorite development team is done for it.

It's not like I forbid you or anything.
It's just that it has nothing to do with the quality of their games but more with unpaid royalties and the fact that people can't quit the fucking studio,
If more people abandon ship, I can only hope they get picked up by EA to work on Medal Of Honor or something. That would mean they have come full circle.

Anyway, it's not really them I hate, they just made a game I didn't like, that's not an unforgivable sin, it's Activision that are the true cunts in the equation, both in making the game, and dealing with studio politics.

I do hope Infinity Ward doesn't go out of business though. For as much as I hated MW2, I really did like all the other COD games they made, including MW, so I'm not putting them past redemption and I'd like to see them have another go at it.

i agree i sure hope they don't go out of business as i love the franchise, and ive never really seen anything wrong with their games, for me its just the people who play it who annoy me. lol. Anyway even if they have been layed of those developers will find employment in another company and im sure will continue to make quality games!

Damn, I'm going to go ahead and blaim Activision for this.

Well, there's no concrete proof that they're to blame for this and that the IW guys are mostly innocent.
Although that's what is certainly looks like, with their reputation and their attacks on Blizzard and all.

As much as MW2 pisses me off, I still play a ton of it and I was hoping that they'd get it right the next go around, but at this rate it doesn't look like there will be a next time. I just want IW to be taken down a notch so they stop being so full of themselves, not completely destroyed...

I ultimately think it's a good thing the studio's falling apart. It's not like they're just gonna give up. They'll form a new studio and make a new shooter. Only this time they won't have to cater to Activision in their every step.

Yeah, seeing how the main crew of IW were the ones working on MoH: Allied Assault ten years ago or something.

Hopefully they don't completely fall apart and are able to finish the story with the majority of original employees as possible, it just wouldn't feel right to finish MW3 knowing that everyone who worked on it hadn't worked on the other ones.

My favourite is World at War. Even with it's dodgey patching history, I just love it.

I wouldn't see it as the end of the world if the MW franchise ended, there's plenty of other shooters and there always will be. I'd rather the MW franchise was just left than went to another developer who killed it. AHEMTREYARCHAHEM. They can stay away from it =.=

I have to say, and this is nothing to do with how I feel about MW2, that MOH's beard beats MW2's mohawk.

Are you sure?
I mean, it might be dirty or scruffy, or other stuff.
The mohawk, on the other hand, is probably really easy to look after.

Just hope this dosen't kill any last hopes for a non-Call of duty project from them. Peraps Activision should do what we all know the want to do and merge Trytech, IW and slegdgehammer into "the Call of Duty Wanking Division" it would fir nicely with their "Guitar Hero Wanking Division", it could even have twice yearly games priced at £55 each with £10 map packs.

I think that's exactly what they're going to do, sadly.
