From now on, I'm viewing this as like a parralel dimension of the internet in my head.

For instance, Escapistmagazine.xxx is the same and paralell versions of us are on there, but everyone talks about sex and everyone is naked.

This should make it easier for parents to spot when their kids have been "up to something".

So basicly its like the Escapistmagazine.com? Wait the rest of you aren't naked weird....

EDIt: Also imagine what would happen to all the videos in this paralell escapist, like zero punctuation would become zero penteration.

Not at the news. At that awesome video! WHY HAVE I NOT SEEN IT BEFORE TODAY?!

Dammit!

OT: .com or .xxx makes no difference, sweaty lil Timmy will still find porn on the interwebs!

Doraleous and associates is a gay porn series where doraleous and Neebs do the most nasty things to eachother?! Ok now I have to clean that image from my mind.

OP: Like most people said that wont achieve anything unless they force all porn sites to get into the new domain instead and remove all the infractors.

So does this mean if I wanted to make a Vin Diesel porn site, I could register the domain xxx.xxx?
Go one better and make a porn site for drunk photos of Aussies.

They should have done this ages ago.

This is a good move, though.
Agreed. Why did it take them so long. This is going to be great for people who love porn all the time and people who don't necessarily look for porn... all the time.

All hail hypnotoad.

If they were forced to change to .xxx, I won't be able to access niche porn sites on a public connection because the filters will be 100% effective!!

NOOOOOOOOOO!
Actually you probably will still be able to, since, again, this is completely voluntary and there's no reason for anyone to do it.
Oh phew, my 50-foot Schoolgirls with Whips fetish can be indirectly shown to kids who happen to walk by :D

With the number of porn sites up already, .xxx will be the minority since nobody will want to change their domain.

Thats what I said but I was reading my local newspaper this morning and loads of people were complaining it would make porn sites easier to find ... There are some idiots in this world.

Sigh I envy kids of today, I remember having to wait until I(looked)old enough to buy a magazine.

On a side note why do porn mags even still exist, who still buys them?

Excellent. Now we can do...

Man, WHAT DOES THIS ACHIEVE?

Calumon: How should I know? I have a blindfold on!
Poor Calumon...how old is Calumon? I mean, in it's years? Just wondering...and how can you tell if you didn't get it at birth?
Well, Calumon, though I did not get when the cute thing was born, is very cute and childish, so I don't want to break that with such... strange things.

Calumon: With this blindfold on, I bet I can sleep easily!

Jack: No! Not on the Key-kasbdgjsdbkc!1!
Hmm, okay. Always amusing.

And new porn sites have no reason to adopt .xxx, I mean, why would you voluntarily adopt something that would make your website less accessible.

Suppose it would be for the best, though it will take some time for sites to make the change.
Uh. Did anyone in this thread actually read the OP?

The .xxx thing is OPTIONAL. For some reason, I really doubt that certain big established porn sites that already get millions of hits would want to change their domain from .com (or whatever) to .xxx in fear of losing some of the hits due to confusion.

Now new porn sites, or older ones creating alternative pages, would definitely take advantage of the .xxx thing because it's likely that there are a lot more available domains left there compared to .coms and .nets which were used for porn since, like, the 90s.
Right, I realised that. I never implied it wasn't optional, did I? You just assumed and misinterpreted what I said.

Yeah, that's actually a really good point.
That's not all bad after all. Makes it easily recognizable, means kids won't be able to get away with a whole messload of stuff anymore

You can't use .edu unless you are an accredited university, its very strictly regulated...in the US at least.
Frankly I do wish we had a system like that for them all.

Miscellaneous (since it kind has become that) .com, educational on .edu, government on .gov, porn on .xxx, business websites on .biz.

So on and so forth. Mainly because THEN it would be harder for people to make fucktard websites and act like they are educational when they are just spouting off propaganda to abuse the trusting nature of stupid people.

In a perfect world maybe ;).
