The only way this could have ended cooler is if the 501st gave her an escort to her classroom.

Uhm, she is a first grader? Then she never saw any of the real Star Wars films, if her mother did not really fuck up the rating system.
She is too young for that stuff.
Meaning, she can hardly have any real attachment to the merchandise, not understanding what it is about, anyway.

Its cute that the internet is sympathetic, but I also highly doubt the boys at school will even know about this, much less care. They do not tease her because of star wars, but because she has something they don´t.

Now this girl has learned that to get what she wants she must tell everyone every problem she has instead of dealing with it HERSELF. GOGO ME GENERATION.
I don't see what you are on about. The girl was bullied because she behaved different to other girls her age. It wasn't her to tell everyone about her problem to "get what she wanted", she was going to cave in under the social pressure. But then some people told her that it is perfectly normal for girls to like Star Wars and that she doesn't have to be ashamed of it.

Ultimately, Katie has been invited to the Chicago premiere of a Clone Wars film by its Yoda, Tom Kane.
Something tells me this saga will end with her not wanting to take Star Wars merch to school anyway.
It's the thought that counts right?
Right?!?

This shows that there are people out there that are against bullying. This'll teach those boys what karma is and how it works.

WINNER!

Anyways, that's a pretty luck save there. Star Wars got some publicity, at least.

So, how can a 25 year old guy cash in on all the Star Wars swag that goes out for free? I was teased for being a nerd too, you know. Where's my picture of me holding a lightsaber.

*grumble grumble*

Yeah, good for the world. I'm still upset.

Hm... i don't understand...

What did the internet do... other than justhaving lots of people saying: Meh... do what you want to do?

I mean, yeah reinforcing someone who did nothing from, and helping him feeling better is nice and all, but how exactly did the 'net save her?

I was expecting something different. This doesn't really seem that "strong" to me.
I'm curious of this as well. It's a slight heartwarming, most certainly, but it's not like we're talking about 4chan-hunting-down-the-puppy-chucker levels of justice here.

Stand firm against your oppressors, and you will win freedom from tyranny.

The people who responded were telling the girl not to judge all Star Wars fans by the actions of a small group of boys, and to stand firm in what she wants to do versus what they do in their small-mindedness.
This is one of the best ways to deal with bullies in school. Bullies go for those they feel are weak and can be beaten down or turned. If you give in you destroy a large part of your self-esteem. If you stand strong, then you win more respect from some if not all the bullies as well as others around you. This is part of growing up.

D'awwwww, the internet has done good again. It's quite sad to think that they'd pick on the poor girl just because she had some star wars paraphernalia, I mean I had Star Wars toys growing up.
