Ad's which really get on my tits are the ones on 4OD.

It's not so much the adverts themselves, but the message that accompanies the adverts.

To save you from boredom, here is a short ad break while your content loads.
How about instead of loading some stupid adverts, why don't you load my program straight away so I won't need "saving from boredom"?

Are these magical adverts which don't use any bandwidth, unlike the program which needs to buffer?

I understand that 4OD sells advert space to make money, and I'm all for that, since it allows them to show show thousands of hours of quality comedy programs for free, but what really annoys me is the bullshit message they show, how they act like they're doing me a favour by showing the adverts.

If the message said "to continue to be able to show you quality programs for free, we need to play some adverts from our sponsors" then I wouldn't mind at all, but it's the apparent lie that's acting like it's doing me a favour that really annoys me.

But maybe I'm wrong, maybe the adverts can be streamed instantly unlike the the program which needs to be loaded up from some archive, I don't know enough about streaming technology to be sure, but it appears to be bullshit to me.

If someone knows more about how these things work, then I'll happily be corrected.

I LOVE cold callers trying to sell me stuff, just to fuck around with them.

"So...how much debt do you have?"
"About £500,000"
"What?"
I would try to flip it around on them, like pretend YOU'RE a cold caller and they accidently called you.

The ones that make me very angry are adverts on TV and in magazines. Yesterday, my girlfriend was browsing through some womens magazine and over half of it was composed of adverts. I really don't see how anyone could still be willing to pay for such trash.
Was it Cosmo? Because I hate womens magazines with a passion, but the sex articles in Cosmo are too good to pass up- also this month, naked male centrefolds... oh yeah baby.

I don't like it when they misplace adverts on TV. For instance I was watching SCUZZ (a heavy metal music channel) at about 2am and a Hannah Montana magazine advert came on... not really their target demographic methinks. Also insurance adverts on Nickelodeon, WHY!?

Ads on dvds, I don't mind, except the bloody "You Wouldn't Steal A CAR! So Don't Pirate This Damn Movie!" thing, that really pisses me off.

Edit: Just realised that youtube link could be an ad for IT crowd. Sorry :p

Wouldn't really know what it was, but it was just one of the many hundreds of womens magazines out there. It's typical how they always have an article about sex, but men are still the ones being stereotyped as sex-fanatics. [/rant]

Regarding calls, I remember hearing or reading about a story where someone was called by a salesman and the guy pretended it was a murder scene. That must be an awesome way to scare someone to death!

I would also like to mention that I have yet to see a good TV commercial, other than the ones by Apeldoorn ("Just call us").

I don't really mind internet banners or pop-ups, because I have a neat program that blocks almost every banner out there.

Other than that, I have never really been bothered by adverts in films. I mean.. if it didn't bother me while watching Happy Gilmore, it never will bother me.

Hahahahahaha! Thank you sir!

That was AWESOME!!!

The Piracy-ad is my least favorite one... Actually, all ads in products that I've purchased are really annoying...

What's sad is if you pirate a movie, then you most likely do not have to watch it.

Yeah those piracy ads piss me off too. I always find myself saying "If i could get away with it...yes...yes i would...along with murder"

Silly silly authorities, people are, in essence, opportunistic thieving little sods.

I remember one where an american gy pretended to be a cop at a murder scene when a cold caller called him and started subtly accusing him of being involved in it...but i cant find it anywhere =(

If someone knows what i'm on about, post it up for fellow enjoyment please! =)
