Have you ever taken an IQ test? If so where do you go to take one usually and what is your IQ?

I have never taken one but I really would like to just to know. However I have no idea where one would go to do this.

I took one once. I got 132 on it, which is apparently above average by a fair portion. I had to do it to see if I should go in a special program at my school.

Yes and I've determined that IQ tests are bullshit.

All they do is tell you how good you are at taking IQ tests. That's it.

Which apperantly counts as gifted.

I always thought IQ tests for the most part checked how well your critical thinking was. For example how many approaches you could explore on a given topic. Then the mandatory math questions (grr).

Look up mensa on the web, find an office in your city or near by and call them. There is no chance of doing it over the web - they're BS every time (even if they are accurate).

Be prepared to outlay a few $$ for the test.

I took one when I was quite young, entering kindergarten I think, and the score was 145. Not sure if it would have changed by now, what with the subsequent years of brain-rotting tv and video games, but there you are.

Nobody will claim to get an IQ of less than 110. This is the internet. Internet IQ tests are meaningless, so are claims without any real proof.

BTW my IQ was tested at 189. That makes me pretty smart bro.

I thought they only tested the left side of your brain? I once took one on the internet and got 122. I don't know if that test was legitimate so that figure could easily be false.

True story. And for more reasons than one.

I've seen IQ-threads galore. Apparently, 60% of the human population online has an IQ of 133 or greater, with many people hitting the level of philosophical luminaries.

The only 'accurate' IQ tests are those that are administered at a very young age by a professional. And even in that case, modern-psychologists are incredibly skeptical of this value as an intelligence reading.

When I had trouble in high school they made me take an I.Q. test to make sure the reason I was dropping out wasn't that I was secretly handicapped. I really didn't care much for the number and asked for a bigger picture. I scored well on the functional memory portion, my writing was considered "simplistic". I took the Weschler for Adults.
