Wait...an anti-Israeli...how could anybody dislike a peoples that makes refugees out of Palestinians (refugees of there own land), kills civilians with gun ships and attacks peaceful protesters? Crazy talk.

I....I just cant believe it.
Damnit, I really don't want to add fuel to the fire, but...

How can anyone dislike a people that strap bombs to children, constantly bombard Israel with rockets, uses extreme propaganda for hate, and wish the death of an entire nation?

See? Generalizations work both ways.

(speaking in general now)

Look, I have family that lives in Israel, thankfully not where the violence is, but I still worry about them every day. Everyone I know in Israel desperately want the fighting to stop, everyone wants peace, etc... Not just the Israeli's, I'm sure many people in the Middle East to. It's just the radicals that make the majority look bad.

But unfortunately it's not that simple. I'm not going to discuss whether Israel has any "right" to exist (though I'd point to the USA and it's dealings with the Natives) or whether it does. All I know is that this propaganda piece is insulting to pretty much everyone and this only fuels more hate for everyone.

If these games are loaded with propaganda, I am cautiously optimistic that people will be able to see through them. If not, good for the developers, I guess.

Either way, I seriously doubt I will ever play any of them.

You know if the old Nazi where around I would expect there propaganda department to pull something like this.
Actually, both sides in WWII had awful propaganda when viewed by modern eyes. Just look at DC Comics covers for say, Superman, during the war. Racism abounds.
(Sorry about double post.)

Certainly not something I wouldn't expect. Or rather, I'm not at all surprised that it could have happened.

While I extremely dislike Israel's persecution of Palestinians; their habit of stealing their land and imprisoning them with unjust sentences; and their purging of freedom of speech, take note that these video games are coming from a country with a rights record that's even worse than Israel's.

It makes me cry a bit inside when people able to come on here don't even know American history.
And it makes me weep even harder when Americas take it for granted that their nation is so awesome that surely the rest of the world spends plenty of time studying its history just for the sake of doing so.

Can you tell me what the Icelandic Civil war was called? No? Well then why should I be expected to know everything about your nation? Also, the Spanish navy was not more powerful then the British one. In fact I don't think the British navy lots its nr.1 spot until World War 2. Note that having a powerful navy isn't just about having lots of big ships, its also about technology and having good men command them, and the British were more or less unrivaled in terms of good naval leadership.
And yet you took it upon yourself to assume what I meant, completely erroneously without bothering to even research the subject. The internet is a powerful resource that is sorely neglected for its potential. And I don't mean just Wikipedia.
This is really kind of my point I am trying to make here when so many in this thread act like Iran isn't much to consider. Iran does have so much it can contribute to the world, and yet it is being perverted and reduced to political propaganda, supported by one man's view of how their religion works.
But in that corruption there lies the great danger that currently, Iran is being run by a theological government that is more than ready to go to war over twisted ideas. And videogames being used as propoganda is a perversion of everything that we as gamers fight for. Feel free to watch this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/1961-Free-Speech] to see how close the West is to following the footsteps of dictatorships like Iran to stomp out those things we enjoy most.

Now THAT was a smart and witty joke.
something tells me that you don't mean that...
No I did mean it. When I'm being sarcastic I usually post sarcasm brackets around the statement. For example:

Nice play Jack Thompson. You are so on the ball.

See?

You and I know that, but if suddenly Ahmadinezjhad (spelling, I know) comes up with the idea that God will destroy the Israeli nukes before they land... well... Mad men aren't predictable.
(If Iran had any nuclear missiles, which we don't really know.)
Considering President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has zero say in military actions, he can think pink ponies from God will come down to zap the zionist weapons for all anybody cares. The one to take into account is the true ruler of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei.
Either case these games won't have the viral effect that Mohammad Reza Jokar believes it will. Those who would just as soon see Iran lighten up won't buy the games, leaving those who already believe the propoganda to waste their money.
I wouldn't be so cocky about Iran being a small fry in the big scheme of things, either. A little over a hundred years a country about the same size as Iran defeated the most powerful navy in the world at that time. Before that happened, the powers of the world were each thinking that either it might be best to invade that pest, or ignore it. The economic and political leaders of that little country firmly believed in Manifest Destiny, that they had a duty to seize all they could and spread the good word of Democracy to all.
That country? The United States of America.
Still doesnt beat that little brittish group who owned the spanish armada xD. Would have loved to see the look on the popes face that day.

I bet the game isnt even any good.

And what does Zionist even mean? They toss the word around all the time.
Zionist is another word for a jewish person... if that was rhetorical sorry, anyway on the subject it is a propaganda game to further demonize Isarael when Iran has more blood on thier hands then Isreal. Hell, probably the next game they publish will be anti-American and they will get away with it.
It wasn't rhetorical, Thank you. And thank you other people who answered my question.

you're 13 years old and you hate your country ?
you should learn more about it
there are things in Israel far greater then simply the "arab israeli conflict", and we are far better then our own media presents us as

+we've got one of the highest life expectencies in the world (8th highest last i checked)
+a larger precentege of university graduates in the work force then just about any other country.
+more doctors scientists, and engineers per-capita then anywhere else in the world
+more start up companies per capita then anywhere in the world
+the most companies traded on the NASDAQ outside of north america
+more registered patents then china, and india combined.
+we've developed agricultural developments that allow you to turn even desert areas into areas you can grown stuff it (inventions that are highly in demand)
+we're in the process of becoming the first country on earth with a fully functional electric car grid that will (if it works in Israel) soon be installed everywhere else in the world (look up something called "Betterplace")
+we've got medical groups like "latet" and "shevet ahim" who give medical treatments to people in 3rd world countries (including those from arab countries) for free.
+name a big high tech company, and its got an R&D center in Israel (microsoft, Intal, IBM, Motorola, etc)
+our GDP per capita is 28,000 $, which is practiclly up to european standards, without having ANY natural resources, and while under constant attack.
+your prime minister, just the otherday was in DC trying to negotiate peace with the Palestinians - so its not like the conflict continues because we aren't TRYING to solve it.

this is just a couple of examples of why you should take more time to learn about your country.
we've only been around 62 years, and we've reached a level of prosperity that most european countries took centuries to attain.
you don't spend 62 years fighting for something... unless its something worth fighting for.

Well true, we made some amazing progress.
But I highly dislike the level of intelligence in most people in this country, I'm tired of seeing adults who are stupider than me.
Sure, there are very smart lads and lasses, but they're hard to find.
For me, at least.
