Hell no. Apparently, it's even more broken than Modern Warfare 2 (especially the PC version, which is genuinely buggy). Don't touch it with a bargepole.
Honestly, I am getting sick of ppl who haven't played the game, saying this stuff.

No it is more balanced them MW2 ever was, take this from a person who has Actually played the game.
He is right though. The PC version is shot to shit. Its nearly impossible to play it without insane drops in frame rate.
Thats not the part I was disagreeing, about, I was talking about the balance part.

Haven't played the singleplayer yet, but I've been having a great time with multiplayer.

If you enjoyed MW2's then you will definitely enjoy Black Ops's. Its basically the same thing but with all the glitches and noob tactics mainly gone.

Unfortunately my brother has just got the game. It to me from what little I have seen looks almost the same as MW2 just more rubble, playes exactly the same and multiplayer is just as frustrating as the other one was (although that's more my opinion than anything). The single player might be good but it will probably be about 6 hours long at best.

Urgh, I hate my brother for getting this game. He decides to buy me Fallout NV for my birthday, that's good. I had to fork over for it though which pissed me off. He also got the first go because I had to go and play a game of badminton. He then decides to buy himself CoDBO and then says I can't play it either because he payed for it. 0_o

Oh balance wise its fantastic haha, just wish it would work :/. I did a couple of unranked matches and it was honestly more fun than I ever had in MW 2.

depends what you are wanting, if your looking for a fast paced online game, and still like MW2 then by all means buy it. But as someone above mentioned the campaign isn't too good, I have failed to complete it so far, because it just bores the hell out of me.

I disagree in that MW2 was over-the-top, and BO is right on top. I would rather the game have less insane features as long as there was balance.
I'm referring to single player. Haven't tried multi yet but I'm sure the accuracy issues exist there too.

well in the u.s. of a. they got it for about 60 bucks. needless to say if i actually had 60 bucks on me id buy it. and from what ive heard from everyone else whos gotten it, thier wishing it was legal to marry inanimate objects. so from my little corner of the world its definatly worth the price

Yes it is, I'm getting what I've paid for, and more. I've definitely spent more money on worse things.

I own the game, and I agree that the PC version is really buggy. The game suffers from a number of technical problems and I suffer from a very uneven framerate. By a uneven framerate I don't mean that the game lags but that no matter what graphical setting I use the game keeps going from running very smoothly to suddenly stopping for like one instant and then resumes to working again perfectly to then suddenly lagging one instant again and then it goes back to working fine.

It should be noted that World at war runs very smoothly with all settings set to maximum even thought it uses the same engine as Black Ops with the only difference being that Black ops is using a modified version of it to allow somewhat higher graphical detail.

Its obvious that the game hasn't been optimized for the PC very well.

EDIT: For example, here you can find a bunch of people complaining about it: http://www.overclock.net/graphics-cards-general/862958-cod-black-ops-only-use-50-a.html
I think you might have been mistaken, I wasn't talking about the bugines of the PC version, I was talking about gun balance.

Whelp, I just beat Black Ops around a minute or two ago, and frankly, I haven't been this satisfied with a Call of Duty game in a long, long time.
Treyarch has no doubt proven themselves capable of delivering a better single player experience since World at War, and it's not only one of the longest iterations that I can recall, but also not chock full of filler. It's a roller coaster to say the least, albeit one that gets a little too over-complicated towards the end, but it cleverly avoid the pothole that Modern Warfare 2 dug itself into by creating levels that are neither frustrating nor boring.

Regardless, the locales, characters, and every other conceivable issue that I thought plagued Modern Warfare 2 has been rectified and the game is better because of it. Now if only they could remove that idiotic jam effect when you're shot, I will be content.
TL;DR: it's "Expand Upon Nearly All of the Sore Spots of Modern Warfare 2: The Game"

Whether it's worth it or not will heavily depend upon your usage of the online component, and in that case, it's fixed nearly all of the issues in that regard as well. There is still the occasional bullshit knife, and you'll still get killed due to lag or what have you, but overall: it's a far more enjoyable experience.

I bought both black ops and reach at full price. I was disapointed with reach, but i really like black ops. It's got a great multiplayer, with a good mix of fast paced action and tactical thought, and good selection of weapons. great buy. and the zombie is awesome.

Nope. Hell, I wouldn't even bother to pirate this if I were you; just stay away from it.

That's a very personal question. I played the game for the first time today and have decided that it is worth the price tag; you might not feel the same way though. Perhaps you can play it at a friends, like I did, to decide for yourself?

Depends how much youll play the multiplayer, I paid £40 for my copy, and it still seems a bit much, but the campaign is great (so far for me anyways), multiplayer is excellent, zombie mode is awesome.
Initially it might not seem like its worth £40 but im going to get my money out of it, and you will too if you get it and play the multiplayer alot.
This is my first COD game and I like it.

Black Ops is easily worth the full price, the game is absolutely fantastic. I would go far as to say it is the best FPS I have ever played.

It is certainly a big improvement over the shitfest that was Modern Warfare 2. Although, it depends on what your preference is. I don't expect anyone that holds a prejudice against multiplayer games to give a shit, but if you like multiplayer and found Modern Warfare 2's balance to be absolute crap, I recommend Black Ops. I also find campaign to be a lot better than MW2 itself, but that's just me.

Well, it will probably get a price drop in a few months, so it all depends on how long you're willing to wait or how much you really want it.
From what I understand it's got awesome graphics and a fun multiplayer, but generic as hell.

It worth the full price,Black Ops,by far,has the most features of any CoD every release, minus campaign coop, and Spec ops.

Keep in mind that the game is just released, there will be more maps, gameplay tweaks, and more goodies in the future.

Cross your finger that Kotick doesn't get any bright idea about Black Ops.

Put it this way...

I hated MW2...and i love Black Ops. The SP seems longer and better, like, i acctualy care for my characters and it's quite interesting. and the MP is what MW2's Multiplayer should have been from the start. It lags up for like a second on a rare occasion but that could just my internet.

I recommend it =D
